has the rep system gone?

I think they should bring it back I had far more green than red, quite amusing to know that one's efforts are appreciated.

Very valid points there

It takes a few mouse clicks to enable the ability for everyone to see who is leaving reputation. There isn't an option to show only who left neg rep, but I don't see a problem in seeing who left good/bad rep anyway.
The options regarding how the reputation power is calulated could also have been tweaked to keep things at a sensible option.
As for dealing with those whose reputation becomes negative, again, a "promotion" that would automatically move users to another, more restrictive, usergroup if they had ? -1 reputation is very very simple to setup.
Another step would be to have newbies unable to give out reputation until they become regular users. This can also be done via a "promotion", criteria being reputation points, time registered and number of posts, and whether it's less than, or equal or greater than any or all of those criteria.
If a troll re-registers and it's obvious they are a troll neg rep them, they hit the -1 limit and are banned/can't post/whatever you set the permissions on the group to allow.
That's not a perfect system, there are some flaws, but it would at least have an automatic element to it, which was lacking in what was set up.
I am curious to know what, if anything will be put in the place of reputation.

Interesting to note that as yet there hasn't been any feedback from Shaun/Simon as to what they thought of the system and what, if anything they are going to do to deal with the trolls, which was, I think, one of the reasons for enabling the reputation system.
