Been there, done that, or rather had it done for me

WRX03. Curtis fitted 50 front and 30 rear, with 5 and 4 from soft respectively.

I don't track mine but enjoy, shall we say 'spirited' driving. So far it's faultless Felt a bit 'jiggly' to start with (in comparison to the OE shocks and Prodrive springs) especially when stuck in shuffling traffic and coming to a halt! It takes a while to figure out what's going on and how to use it, but as long as you're under power when cornering it'll go exactly where you point it with the minimum of fuss. This can be a little underwhelming until you realise just how much more capable the car's become, then it's OMG, did it really just do that so easily?! But isn't that what we all want?

I've had the chance to try it on a couple of favourite bends and roundabouts now, and the difference makes the cost well worth it.

Thanks to MikeyTang for organising this and Curtis and the crew at Powerstation not just for fitting it but for putting in so much hard graft developing such an awesome system

Paid for T25 kit earlier in the week and finallised my order today. Had originally asked for rear alu drop links when I talked to Dirk but after talking to Curtis found they were not required on the JDM as they already have a ball joint set up. Curtis had already advised Dirk of that so there you go cracking service. Gone for the 60/40 spring set up as I like my tracks days and B roads. Mostly Knockhill but determined to try Oulton park (Spelling) and Donnington next summer. So have to keep an eye out for club days. Only bummer is I have to travel from Aberdeen first.

PPS Where can I get a full Nylon bushing set?

Got stuck on the M5 till 6.45!!!! to Droitwich turning where we found a trailor embedded in the armco!! and classic car it was carrying looking sad for itself!

first impressions where they where bouncing allot on the stop start in the traffic jam, but it seems to have sorted itself now

Just got in now after coming back, but went on a SMACS run out to test the shocks, insanely stable at high speed was my first impression, and after a few hairpin bends the slow speed grip is just awsome (it was crap before!)

I will let you know how i get on as the week progresses

Cheers to Curtis Rich and Dirk for looking after me

PS nice piccie of the Porsche!!

Yes i have to agree this set up is awsome, i was not so sure until i had had it a couple of days and went out over the brecons for a spirited drive... stunning levels of grip, now i can see the limit of my OE (ish) brake setup..

GB on HUGE (AP racing ??) brakes next then

Thanks to all, Including PS staff, very informative and friendly

Cheers Paul

Go ahead, have a play, it wont bite.

Rather than copying someone elses settings, get a feel for how the changes affect the cars composure, then adjust to your liking.
If you get all muddled up then just wind them to soft, and start counting the clicks from the begining.

I new the suspension was good but this has totally transformed the car. Making the old type RA handle like nothing I've ever driven before, the car has next to no lift or roll and the way you can feed the power down out of corners is amazing. The car use to feel over powered for the chassis now it feels as though the car could handle twice the amount of power in which my engine throws out.
Big thanks to the guys at Powerstation and pencil me in for the big brake upgrade as I'll definatly be coming back
I've just noticed I left my jacket at Powerstation, so convinced my Mrs after four hours of nagging that it's a wasted journey to travel all that way without having another mod done just to collect my jacket. So booked for next Thursday for big porsche brake conversion.
Thanks Jon

Buggers

Get my car fixed and fitted with the kit and they decide and go racing today - meaning i cant pick the car up and enoy a weekends "practise" with the new suspension

Hey - anyone want to organise a groupbuy on one of their "power" upgrades? They could do fit it while they have the car

Would just like to repeat Fuzz's comments about settings/clicks. You do all need to experiment!
When I did mine (One way adjustables and now 3 ways) I kept to a simple rule for starters:

1
Fully soft is safe!
2
The rear spring rates are about 80% of the front, so set the rear 'clicks' 80% of the front clicks, so 8 clicks front = 6 (maybe 7) clicks to the rear.

Drive the car on the same road section (carefully!) and get out and add/subtract a click at a time.
Mostly, you will find that a higher damping rate works best as the car responds just so well. (your wife/girlfiend/mistress may not approve)

Great fun.

I think Curtis shows EVERYONE that Porsche pic...... but she is nice..

I'm sorted

**** me....

I know its raining.. but health warning

...got to M1/M69 roundabout. Thought "i know its raining but lets see how she corners now".... so i boot it.

**** me... massive 100 yard 4 wheel drift - as soon as the turbo booted in in second. I just got to the point where the car began to lose grip round the roundabout - and booted it... wheels just spun up and i shot forward going sideways. No problems with control - just kept foot burried and had no wobbles just a glorious slide.

Not recommended in rush hour

In 5 years of ownership - ive NEVER had that happen before LOL

Absolutely brilliant (if a little scary as i wasnt expecting it)

Be carefull out there guys.... things have changed

Car actually rides a lot better than before - i can now tell how my shocks were REALLY knackered.

Im on 6F 5R on an MY01 WRX.

Oh - and those of you with leather seats... take some rags with you - the new dials on the rear shelf SQUEEK LIKE **** on the leather

Thanks for organising this group buy!

AST with 50/40 springs: 8 clicks front/6 clicks rear from soft.
AST with 60/40 springs: 10 clicks front/8 clicks rear from soft.

These settings for max grip on smooth roads.

Well I had mine done yesterday and enjoyed watching the work and chatting with some of the guys. I do have a bit of problem from refraining in getting stuck in with the tools though, which may not have gone unnoticed by andy and Curtis (Born with a spanner me!)

I also saw T25 No. 002, over in the corner of the workshop.

I had a good chat with their race car driver who is a really nice down to earth guy. If his description of the new T25 road car is anything to go by, I may know what I am buying next .

First impressions on the car??

I was straight off to BRD for a remap and could not drive on boost. The suspension did have that solid spring feel to it, but it was actually less harsh on the bumps than the standard JDM.

After the remap , I got to play on a few motorway sliproads at speed and I have to say I must be saving on brake pads. The car did feel really stable and soaked up the surface bumps very well at (undisclosed) speed on the corners.

If I had a critism its that I have slight pull to the left. But im hoping that this may go when the settle a bit more.

I do need the extra handling after the remap though!

Curtis had a bit of a problem with one of my track rod ends, but it apparently shifted in the end.

It used to be arrow straight on the motorway, but on etnway home I noticed that i needed to pull it right ever so slightly.

Im going to see if it gets any better with time.

Fuzz, my front ARB gets creaky when it's wet or just after washing, obviously poly bushes need some more grease, however I've regreased (albeit without removing) and it still does it..

Have you encountered this before..?

BTW 05 WRX, I took part in the last GB back in May iirc..?

Cheers,
Jason

PS My setup settled down after some initial bouncing/jiggling (does make me wonder if it's the M5 just north of PS..?) and handles the power very nicely.. I 'usually' run 9f 7r and rear ARB on the middle, but as mentioned you're best finding your own setup.

Quick question guys... went over my first speed bump yesterday. there was an almighty bang noise from the rear (at 10mph max) on the way down over the bump... is that right? Should it do that?
