Thanks for all your responses- got some shaws dog shampoo in the end- instead of smelling of cod liver oil he now smells of wet dog... mmmmmm lovely

lol we gave him his bath- his fur is no longer greasy! But its like theres a fish walking around the house! He absolutely stinks!

Cover him in cheap tomatoe sauce (honestly, i'm not on a wind up) and he'll lick it of himself, thus getting rid of the smell.

Just wash the dog a few times with ordinary bath soap or washing up liquid. Put the dog in the bath with warm but not hot water. If it is not used to this and tries to leg it get somebody else to hold him in until you have got the soap worked well in. Use a jug to pour water over him.
Make sure you thoroughly rinse the soap out after a few minutes.
Keep him inside until thoroughly dry.
I do this with my dog when needed and she has rolled about in motor oil, antifreeze, horse poo (regularly) green liquid cow pats, goose droppings etc.
After bathing with a scented soap she usually rolls in grit or on the lawn at the first opportunity.

LMAO clever dog mine just rubs herself up and down the sofa and shakes like she having a good old time ha ha
