Quiet today
I'll send you a postcard
Similar to the WMP format MS tried to enforce on everyone to replace jpeg so they'd be due a license from every developer that wanted the codec, and then there was Metro, another attempt to cash in on others ideas (pdf) and lock everyone into their way of w*rking. WMA and WMV are amongst the most unfriendly formats I've come across as a non-MS user, but you guys seem to cope OK with mpeg and mp3
Oh, and how many PeeCee's can run OSX quicker than a Mac, whereas new Intel Macs of the same apparent spec seem to be running Vista faster than the machines it was designed for using Parallels and Bootcamp
At least you can see one positive
I use both and make an educated choice, please explain your opinion base guys

Oooh, lets see...
Availability, price, accessibility, the fact that 99% of vinyl cutting software is PC based, and a deep seated hatred of Apple ever since they tried charging FAR too much for the Apple ][e (old habits...)
But, above all, what else would you be doing tonight if you were'nt replying to this

Here, have these on me

Here, have these on me

Availability - Not sure there's a problem
Price - As Mac's generally outlive PC's by about a factor of 2x, and with little or no necessary upgrades then only someone short-sighted enough to look at the purchase price instead of the overall useage price would balk at that. I'm sat in a studio with 14 Mac's, all of which are over 8yo with not one of them upgraded in any way barring a few mb of memory. All still w*rking fine, and not one has ever failed on us, and neither has my 8yo lappy.
Accessibility - To what ?
Overcharging for the IIe - Yeah, they did !
Software - If your business needs it then your stuck, but I have 2 other mates in the vinyl sign trade, both using Mac and both running very smoothly. One Mac bought by one and still running well after 4 years, the other has 6 but his business is much bigger, but with the same solid reliability and fast, efficient throughput. Another designer I know does massive web design for blue-chip companies and only uses Mac except for testing. Although everything he does w*rks fine on Mac, MS seems to screw everything up, but nowhere near as much as if he designed from scratch on MS.
As an aside, I am gonna make you all a pledge. I will never speak of Macs again to anyone in the WYIOC, EVER ! Happy now.

No.
Not at all.
We need you to steadfastly defend / support / promote the Apple stuff.
Don't get all titty, it's only a bit of harmless fun.
Has Al upset you with his North Sea line?
I'm sure he meant somewhere much more exotic, like the Adriatic perhaps

Dave.. you bring joy and laughter to all us PC users on dusky evenings. My North Sea tagline was a little tenuous in it's fishing reference, as you're as easy to catch as a young mackerel.
You also constantly display the true meaning of fighting your corner and, I'm not a Troll to anyone less than Moses or Pslewis, but I do enjoy immensely lighting the blue touch paper and retiring with some nice Butterkist Pecan popcorn and a Stella ..
You keep it up mate.. don't loose heart now.. the Jehovas witness guys keep going through wind and rain to get you to convert..

Rescued from the bottom of the page...
Blimey, things ARE quiet around here.
JB's gone and got himself a 'proper' job, one that he actually gives a stuff about, and so he's nicely tucked up in bed by 7:30 evey day!
Killer's been quiet too of late, guess he must be back studying
fl6 has probably fallen asleep at the keyboard again in a drunken stupor. Last time he did that he ended up with a 4.2 gigabyte word document containing nothing but the letter 'f'. He's currently halfwy through printing it in order to send it to several publishers in a bid to become the next Dan Brown.
Scott will be tucked up nice and snug in bed, complete with his Superman pyjamas (Must get around to organising that summer PJ midnight run
)
Chances are Stu will by lying in a pool of Stella and pizza flavoured vomit at the side of some inner ring road, having been out on a bender and failed to get in touch with Kelly for a lift home. He'll have tried calling her several times, but only ever got through to some eastern European taxi firm, who simply want far too much money to drive up from Cirencester and take him home.
Bri and Mandy are probably locked in the spoon position, arms cradling that soft body, a wry smile on the sleeping face as the beard gently brushes against the warm sensuous nape of an inviting neck. Get a shave Mandy
Of course, some of you will be dreaming right now... Dave C will be anticipating the thrill of leaving the house on a nice, clear summer's morning and having the toughest decision in the world to make... Do I take the Scooby or the Evo?
Well, when I was lucky enough to be in that fortunate position the Evo ALWAYS came out on top.
It felt alive.
Engaging.
Communicative.
And it would go sideways on demand on any bend you cared to throw it into.
But, that was in pre-modded Scooby time.
Nowadays the decision would be just as easy, but the result would be exactly the opposite.
Thanks to some (IMHO) tasteful mods it would be the Scooby keys for which I'd be reaching.
It feels MORE alive.
More engaging.
More communicative.
And it makes a sound to die for.
Just a couple more mods to make to her over the coming months and Scotts future car will be complete.
Perfect.
The ideal beast for road and track.
The only decision then would be to sell or not to sell.
There's pressure there from Scott and Sarah
but...
It all hinges on the EvoX (and finances :rolloeyes
Anyway, I digress...
Other dreamers?
Well, Corradoboy may perhaps still be having restless nights as he dreams that his beloved and much cherished VeeDub gets driven away into the arms of a total stranger, though I'm sure Dave took every precaution to ensure that she went to a good home, can you ever be 100%?????
Al will be dreaming that he's having a celebrity dinner with fellow Black Country boys Jasper Carrott, That bloke that plays Barry in Auf Wiedersein Pet, and the Pig from Pipkins (struggling to think of any other famous Brummites)
Yatesy will be dreaming of the ULTIMATE impreza, a full-on WRC car, parked at the top of the drive, just next to Aileens TT. Gleaming in it's fluorescent yellow livery. Hang on... Is it a dream? Can anyone really tell the difference? Hmmm.... Perhaps the next mod should be a WRC bonnet and bumper? (Sorry for putting ideas into his head Aileen
)
Mick will be snuggled up tight to the lovely Jackie. Nudging her occasionally with the old LP. Dreaming that he was holding her in his arms as they walked slowly along some exotic beach just south of Skegness, Jackie leaving delicate footprints in the cool, damp sand, Mick leaving an impression large enough to accomodate a small Kosovan car wash team, complete with industrial Karcher and 3 chamois leathers.
Young Kaines right hand is probably flailing around wildly as he dreams that he's changing from 1st to 4th, then 2nd, 1st, 4th, 3rd, 1st, 4th, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 3rd, and finallt back to 4th. Must be playing Sega rally then...
Dazza may have woken up for a pee, something which becomes an all too common activity as you reach your 40th year on the planet. He's probably feeling thirsty too, but won't be able to do anything about it, as Neeve moved the stool from the kitchen into the dining room, so he has nothing to stand on to reach the tap.
As for me? Well, I've set myself a little mission for the morning, and with a fair old chunk of lady luck the fruits of my labour may be available for the rest of you lot to have a look at later today. Fingers crossed.
I love you all.

That was a late one, my friend.
Having immense amounts of trouble sleeping, woke at 2 this morning, been at work since 3.
Think I need professional help (Not that kind!!)
