KYB AGX SHOCKS

Just received mine
but, one of the front shox was damaged - the piston rod had at some point been forced through the side of the box (some clut had probably dropped the box
....) resulting in the plastic dial breaking off. More importantly, it was easier to push the rod into the body compared to the other shock.
Nathan has sent a replacement but you should all check yours.

Mine arrived yesterday - the address label had fallen off the box somewhere between Birmingham and the Bath depot which confused things a bit!
I haven't checked them properly, will do when I get home, thanks for the advice.
Many thanks to fulla for organising this - I'm off to Powerstation a week today to get them fitted, along with Eibachs and Whiteline rear adjustable ARB & droplinks, all courtesy the Demon Tweeks scoobynet discount!

Any one fitted these yet?
I'm looking for a set of replacements for my WRX MY99 Classic but very wary from past experiences on other cars.
Basically, I want to maintain original settings as much as possible. ie handling good but does not shake wifey's bones!

Also, does any one know if the adjustable element of these shocks is on bounce and rebound or just rebound?
My past experiences, they were on rebound only and if turned to "hard" setting they effectively "sucked" you down limiting travel.

Good question gdavey.
This KYB tech tip says they adjust both bump & rebound and I didn't notice any jacking when I used them. Also the adjuster seems to affect high & low speed damping proportionally rather than just a low speed bleed thats common. That can be either good or bad depending on what you want.

KYB TECHNICAL TIP # 2002-06
DATED: November 20,2002
TITLE: AGX Adjustment Definition
The AGX products have the following approximate damping force values.
When adjusted, both rebound and compression damping forces change.
Setting#: Relative Value
1 - Same as Factory 100
2 - Same as our GR2 products (10~15% firmer than Factory) 115
3 - 50% firmer than #2 172
4 - 30% firmer than #3 223
For an eight position adjustable product, the damping force values are approx.
the following:
With #2 being Factory at a relative value of 100,
#1 = 95%
#2 = 100
#3 = 107.5
#4 = 115
#5 = 143.5
#6 = 172
#7 = 197.5
#8 = 223

Bugg*r. Wish I noticed this GB sooner.
I only heard about it last night at the WYIOC when a couple of us were discussing if the shocks on my UK MY00 needed replacing (lots of bouncing up and down on the wings!).
These sound like a really good bit of kit. I assume that people have had a chance to use them properly, seeing as it's nearly a month since the last post.
Do they live up to the hype??
Does anybody plan to do another GB if they have 'the contacts'?
Regards,
Paul
