Ah right - which is why the upgraded turbos quite often specify roller bearings I guess - makes sense now, cheers

If I read the above right you are referring to draining the oil out through the sump plug and using a suction pump to empty the sump by placing a pipe down the dipstick tube. Both will get the oil out, but any crap in the bottom of the sump will only be best removed by removing the sump plug. The other snag with a pipe down the dipstick tube is the affect the heat of the engine will have on the tube. I may get told this is a load of crap but who cares it's the way you learn things.

Sump plug is the best and only way on a scoob in my opinion,I had to do some work on an A class merc today.Guess what? no sump plug the recommended way is to suck the oil out through the dipstick hole.Trouble with this is you can only put the tube in til its at the bottom of the sump and then suck all the available oil out.Still didnt really know if it was totally empty which is a problem.

No, they just spin up faster and last longer
