no let me explain , I rebuild calipers for a living , its not the same persons calipers I have been rebuilding for the last 18 years , it's thousands of different people.

Well, I've just fitted my Comp-B4's to my STi4 (had them fitted for a year before that on a '95 WRX). Thought about selling and going for something better, but this was the least cost option.
Verdict after one year of road use and trackdaying...
1. No anti-rattle clips on the comp-b4 pro-race 2 caliper. This is monumentally stupid. Are the other compbrake calipers the same? The constant rattle drives you mad and the pad edges dig into the alloy of the caliper. I now use a thicker spacer on the pad-retaining-pin to hold the pads snug and the they're quiet most of the time.
2. Hawk HPS a bit poor from cold but I've got used to them for road use.
3. Good track performance with HP+ pads but fairly heavy pedal pressure needed. This is the 278mm kit (yes, really!) which fits under my ultra-light 16" wheels. Can out-brake most other cars on a trackday with no fade, no blueing of the disk, no pad disintegration. One set of HP+ lasted half a dozen trackdays.
4. Disks seem to handle swapping between HPS and HP+ pads, although have had the occasional judder (a pad deposit issue, but it seems to disappear after a while). Need new disks soon, after one year of road use plus half a dozen trackdays. Might run separate rotors for trackdays next, so that I don't have to mix pad type on the same rotor, but would need new bells as well to make this convenient.
5. Pistons ok so far, but they've seen only one winter and I spray brake cleaner in there whenever convenient.
So, all in all, I've decided to keep them. If buying again now at the same price I'd maybe take a punt on k-sports, or spend a bit more on Godspeed APs, or spend 50% more on full APs (my choice is slightly restricted by sticking to 16" wheels; for 17"+ you would add Stoptech to that list).
