decided on a colour yet?
99% sure of the colour Its a secret though.

Main Hoop now cut and inplace.. sort of.. Awaiting some photo's of another cage..

Turns out I was right with the plates on the front struts.. Have now worked out what the odd plates are for that were lying around

Thanks for that David.. more detail of the rods in the garage not the bathroom please!

Cage is taking shape.. are you going to paint it all then weld it in or are you double jointed?

Simon.. Overspray will cover most of it.. and if you spray very little paint and lots of passes, it will get covered... no point trying to paint it prior, as it will make it harder..

Andy - Its not quite as easy as I thought it would be, but not looking bad at all... YET.. and only 3 tubes done so far!

Went to my sisters today instead, as she had a leak and the floor needed refitting, so got that out of the way.. off back in the garage now though..

View From Boot

Close up of joint (Drivers Side)

Rear Strut Bar In..

Guessing at tube postions, as this and the u shaped piece from the transmission tunnel are next, then the X in the back window.

Just a bit of tubing left

Plate tack welded in place to locate U shaped Piece..

Same again..

Also getting a bit sad, just written a program to sort the images..
tomorrow I will make it rescale the images and also upload them via FTP... I then will probably take a lot more pics for you

David

Must be murder welding in a cage this way and getting round all the joints.
Did you weigh the cage tubes when they were delivered?

Look forward to seeing progress further tonight as i have nothing else to do on my car now.....(= getting bored already)

Graham.

Cage weighs 50kgs apparently.. .could have saved weight with a T45, but the cost per KG makes me want to shed the weight elsewhere, or invest it in traction (Ohlins Suspension or Mickey Thompson's) or my sequential dog kit

Anyway.. back in the garage now.. done the U shaped tube, and done one end of the first rear stay, doing the other next whilst the jig is set at the correct angle....

Came in to warm up and grab a drink and the camera... its not warm out.. ICE on the pond

Really need to find a good natural gas heater at a reasonable price..
