I just got from Powerstation with mine...
Didn't get on the rollers until 6.30 - also had problems fitting the FSti intercooler that was due to go on so ended up having to have it mapped with the oem FXT one
Still - made 313bhp / 300 torque on the rollers and the journey home was a hoot ! Pulls like a train from 3000 and the sound is fantastic
Need to get the Intercooler changed and may get it remapped later to get a few more top end

I've got a fairly standard late-registered black mica S Turbo that's almost 2 years old now.
Only additons of note are Impreza 4 pots and Rota torque 17"s in steel grey.
Breathing mods and Tek3 remap to come in the near future so that I can hopefully break the 200hp barrier!

Forester vs Impreza
Hello
I'm thinking of moving from 01 WRX Wagon to Forester 2.5XT. For those of you who have moved in this direction could you please give me some pros and cons for comparison sake.
Obviously I appreciate this is a very emotive subject but just hoping to gain a better insight. Also hoping to get an extended back to back test drive of the new WRX and Forester from my local dealer as well to help with the decision making.
Thanks in advance
Henry

Prodrive fitted today - only an extra 26bhp, but transforms car. In gear pick up dramatically better.

Depending what you want from the car you could consider a one-year-old Forester STi.
Otherwise you'll end up modding an XT to get rid of the roll, give more power and generally improve the handling.
Although my old one is for sale I'm not trying to influence you in any way whatsoever !
Regarding the general comparison of the Impreza wagon to the Forester, this old thread may provide some useful comparison data about sizes and accommodation

PPP transformation
Forget the modest increase in bhp with the PPP and look at the increase in torque to 300ftlb (something like 60-70ftlb more). It is this which makes the car accelerate quicker and feel much faster.
In addition, forget the max torque figure and look at the graphs - huge increase from 2500rpm upwards. Peak torque without a PPP is around 4500rpm - this is achieved at 2500rpm with the kit fitted. It is this that makes the car so easy to drive.
I had PPP fitted earlier in the week and WOW!!!! It total changes the way car accelerates. In gear acceleration is effortless.
I previosly had an STi8 (300bhp / 280ftlb) and the FXT + PPP is without a doubt quicker.
Only two critisms:
1.
The power is so smooth compared to the STi that it is difficult to appreciate just how quicker you are actually going. After leaving the dealer on Tuesday with the PPP fitted I accelerated down the slip road onto the A38 and thought "this isn't what I expected, feels a bit boring really". Then I looked at the speedo to see 105mph - though I was doing about 75mph!!!!!!
Get onto some B roads and you really feel the difference.
2.
The overall handling of the car isn't an STi, which means more expense. Umm, what next??
The other small mod added at the same time was the Prodrive / STi shortshift gear lever. Shortens the throw by about 50% and is much more solid / direct feeling. Certainly aids accelaration.
Well worth the £160.
Moral of the story - Don't rely on the figures, get out there and try it out for real.
Best wishes
Simon

Forester Stuff
Hello Everyone,
Had a couple of things added to a 2 Litre XT, Sports Air Filter, Turbo Air Blades, (already had stick from the Clowns aout this ) and a series 28 Turbo fitted.
Had some good advice from people like Andy Tang who reccommmended a remap, reckon around 225-230 at the moment.
Next week it goes into Powerstation for a remap.
Will let you know.
I am a bit of a "thicko" when it comes to technolgy, how do I take Pics of the Motor & post it on here?
Any help appreciated.
THanks
Kind regards
Alan MAC

Nice one Alan - sounds good
You need to upload your pics to somewhere like photobucket (free) then copy and paste the image tags into your post eg [img]photo.jpg etc etc..

Got the remap done at Powerstation on Tuesday this week.
A bit optimistic when I thought I was starting off with 225 bhp probably around 210.
Finished with 262.8 bhp, cos the bigger Turbo I had fitted doesn't kick in till around 4,000 rpm lb/ft is only 250.
Rich reckons if I have a full blown exhaust system & an STI Intercooler he can get the benefits of the bigger blower and see some good improvements on 262.
So it's saving up again.
KInd regards

Might want to have a chat with Forestier over on Subaruforester.com - he's putting together an exhaust upgrade using an Impreza Sti Prodrive Sports cat.. obviously a lot cheaper than a grand for a 3" Miltek TBE..

will a UK 2004 forester 2.0 xt have 2 or 4 pot brakes? The one I test drove had a lot of initial pedal travel but then seemed to bite OK.
I'm just waiting for a insurance cheque before I take the plunge back into scoob ownership after a 3 year absence.
I registered on Subaru Forester Owners Forum - Powered by vBulletin but can post yet - how long does activation take?
Has anyone swapped the head unit? is it easy to do and also upgrade front speakes.
