Default Forester Import Owner - Parts Problem!!

Hello out there - I have just joined Scoobynet
Having found this site whilst I was looking on the net for some anti-roll bar droplink bushes (mine are wacked out).
So I wondered if anyone could guide me to a UK supplier.

I am the enthusiastic owner of a 1998 Forester which was imported from Japan to the UK in 2003 with a mileage of 51000.

I have to date fitted :
A stereo/cd system
New rear shocks.
Gold 17 inch scooby wheels
New front drive shaft CVs
A reconditioned 280 bhp Impreza engine (Blown up using 3 star petrol).

Now at 62000 miles I have at last found out what the clonking noise was - after being advised on the MOT to replace the ARB droplink bushes.

But where do I get them from ???

Help would be most appreciated.

Count me in too.

Been the owner of a 2.0XT wardrobe since March, slightly down on power compared to my old WR1, but I still enjoy looking at the faces of my victims as I pass them.

Only mods are the Prodrive 17s with P7s on, and a 19mm rear arb.

Hi Everyone!

I've got a 2003 2.0 XT which I've had from new, traded it in for my WRX. I loved the WRX but was likely to end up either rearranging the street furniture or getting on first name terms with the local magistrates.

I've found the forester to be far more practical and entertaining, particularly its stealth capabilities. I'm now contemplating whether to trade it in for the 2.5XT .........................although the Forester STi is quite tempting.

I'll post some pics when I get chance.

The 2.5 will be quicker than your old WRX but not handle as well if it's left standard.

That's the problem with modding 'to-do' lists, tick one off and two new ones appear

I'm accumulating bits in the garage, but I've not had a chance to get them fitted!

Now in garage:

MY01 Subaru Impreza 4-Pot calipers, disks and Mintex 1155 pads
MY03 WRX front seats
Classic Magnex centre section (without resonator)

Now where are the prices for lowered springs?? And where should I go for my tints???

Have you tried japanparts or subie gal for springs Andy ?

I'm also in the market for tints at some point - I know there's a place not far from me on the Fleet road near Fleet pond but I have no idea what they are like or prices etc...maybe a group buy opportunity

Stuff on my to do list
Next...(21st April)
VF39
Miltek exhaust
Sti Filter
FSti Intercooler
Fuel Pump
Remap

Then (when funds allow)
Front chin spoiler
Rear roof spoiler
Tints
Wheel Refurb for the PFF7's to Anthracite

Dreams (one day)
Defi's
Sat nav for the Kenwood DDX 6027

Let's see everyone elses planned and aspirational mods !

I drove past there last week and pointed it out to my wife, as she is the one pushing for the tints to be done!

Just retired my impreza wagon

Collected Forester 2.5XT last friday.

Currently in workshops having communications kit, blue lights and sirens fitted. Picking up next weds, then back to dealers for PPP following monday. Fairly confident that when I'm finished it will be the fastest ambulance in the midlands!

Only downside is the Renaults Scenic I'm driving while the lights are being fitted.

Another ex-Impreza owner signing in. I'm more than chuffed with my new purchase, a 2005 2.5XT with PPP and Prodrive 17" wheels.

Cheers,
Andy

Default Newbie owner saying hello

Hi folks, just bought a '99 2 litre Forester for dog hauling and wife commuting duties. Thought I'd say hello, even though I'm strictly "poverty spec" compared to most of you....have to make do with my 200SX if I want to go quickly

yea, it's a 2.5XT,

not as quick as the other scoobs, but still get huge smiles.

Got quite a bit off the extras also

Scotty.
