What Mike has told me is that the PPP for the 06 is currently in development and hoping to get it out by the end of the year. Likely to be essentially the same in terms of exhaust and ecu changes and figures should be slightly up on the 05 offering..

Maybe next time.
We umm'd and aahh'd over a forester and a wrx wagon as we got two dogs...and a wagon came up first, so there was no real concious decision made it was just nice and shiny and was a good bargain, if we'd seen a forrester first we probably would have bought that. There has had to be some compromise with the wagon as the back, although a hatch is still a bit cramped. We saw a STI forrester at the jap show at sandown and really tempted now, I guess grass always looks greener on other side .

Mrs has put here foot down, and now we got the wagon we got to stick with that ... so I'm adding a few mods for it (cheers Bartop, will be down later ).

I think next year we may sell her and get a STI forrester, so I'll keep a watchfull eye on this thread

out of interest whats the cost of an STI forrester ... I couldnt afford one of the new 06 ones ... how far bak does the model go... what sort of money do they fetch

Ive got a 2.5xt in black 05 model 54 plate as a fishing golfing dog owner i couldnt be without it, still keep a prodrived classic to let off abit of steam but the forester is so comfortable and user friendly and still leaves expensive german cars for dead,I find it sails over speed bumps which are apearing everywhere now and are a nightmare for my impreza, before i drove one I thought the forester was for old farmers, not anymore.

Default Rolling roaded

Just got back from the rolling road and got 246bhp and 335nm torque. The car was running badly as it was detting and the dyno run had to be cut short. Have to change the plugs for cooler ones and a full service is well overdue. Not bad figures though for remap and exhaust and tdo4.

I've still got about 200 quid left in my modding money stash ... so still looking for the elusive back box. Cant afford that and the de-tango'd lights you mentioned today

Thanks to all for posting...

My FXT is running in nicely - 1000 mile service due next week and then we'll see a bit more of what it's capable of

Hurry up Mike with the new PPP details - getting twitchy here !

Here's what I'm think mods wise - what do you guys think

Stage 1
PPP or Miltek and remap / filter. Good for 285'ish ?

Stage 2
Turbo / injectors / fuel pump / new Tmic. Take it up to 320 ?

Also thinking ahead for handling, suspension and brakes upgrades...what would you guys recommend ?

Why would you go for a PPP, only to invalidate your warranty later with the other extras?

Surely a Forester STI would have been a better buy?

Forester Sti would have been very nice - but tbh was just out of reach (22k approk from Iain) plus all the hassle of selling my WRX privately. Plus I like the new shape, leather, cruise , heated seats etc plus plenty of modding potential

In the end I got a very good deal on the XT with px on mine which swung it..

Good point with the PPP though - waiting to see what Mike comes back with before I decide.

Seriously considering one to replace my Classic, but want to save for an Sti. Would be fun to mod an XT but I agree with Andy Tang that you'd soon be up to Sti money and blow the warranty. I guess you pays yer money & takes yer choice... Having said that I don't much like the Sti wheels and with a free choice I'd go for some nice smooth 5 spokes like this guy in Oz on the Forester forum: http://usera.imagecave.com/RodPics/forest2.jpg

Thanks for starting the thread Bartop - lots of good stuff here

Could anyone tell me when the interior was updated in the forester was it around 2003? I have seen the inside of a 2001 and it looked like a vauxhall cavalier inside!

My mun is currently looking to buy one and I have got to find out all the info.

Cool An Impreza escapee

I'm here with the following modificiations to a UK 2000 S/Tb

Four pot Subaru brakes on front with larger discs
Goodridge brake hoses
Whiteline drop links front and rear
Cusco adjustable ARB at rear
17 alloy wheels and Falken tyres
"snorkelectomy"
HKS air filter and back box(modified Impreza version)
Intercooler spray
Zero sports air boot
"Winter" mudflaps
oem Rear spoiler
oil temp, oil pressure amd boost gauge in central pod
rear "limo" tints
Blaupunkt CD radio

Think that's it so far !
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3/mouthy/foredit.jpg

Before the spoiler and the winter mudflaps.
When subaruforester.com works I'n there as "oldgit" - for very obvious reasons according to two plonkers in a Pug who could not cope with an "oldgit in an Impreza" - now they can't cope with the Forester!!

Cool 2.5XT Down Under

Hi all and thought i would take advantage of posting a few pictures on here of my standard Forester 2.5 XT.

First pictures are of the brand new clean variety taken on the drive

and this is a piccie of the car on a dirty weekend at Batemans bay in South NSW.

Was toying with getting a WRX wagon at the time, but after a 98S UK turbo and a UK300 WRX, thought it was time for a change. No mods, only the LUX pack

Cheers

the site's *hosts* have managed to let their domain expire ( not the sf.com domain ) and it's been grabbed.
