took mine in with the knocking noise, Answer, its nothing, cant hear it sorry...
Took it to ASP and Alyn said, commen problem on newage STI's, but not heard of it on the WRX. Anyway, a bounce in the boot a few times revealed sticking rear dampers on both sides.
Coudnt be bothered to argue with the dealer so i call SUBARU ASSIST and told them come and get this now, its dangerous to drive.
1 week later, a whole new rear suspension setup was needed.
Still sick of the car, major parts like that failing can and will loose someone there life one day. The fun in owning this car went with the first engine im guessing
For those that have not read previous problems, my car is an 05 WRX and its covered 9K to date.............................................. ...........

Did the WRX's start having these problems with the MY05 chasis changes. I thought they changed the existing WRX parts for the STi inverted strutt suspension ? seems logical that the WRX would inherit the apparent knocking problems from the STi too ???
I have been reading this thread and thought i'd add my problem.
I have recently had all new KYB adj shocks and Eibach springs fitted. Soon after going on there was a loud knocking/clunking from the back left. It has all been aligned but the sound is still there.
Any ideas as it is really annoying me!!
Thanks

Usual problem, very low speed knocking sound coming from the back of the car, goes away when I press the loud pedal though. Just spoke to Prosport, and even Clare knew what I was talking about
What do you think the chances are of me getting any new warranty work transferred to money off an AST setup instead? Seems pointless to get this fixed under warranty, to then throw away the brand new strut within months
chris.
