It does make a difference. It makes a standard GTi-6 (which is a tad slower than a WRX) quicker to the extent that a WRX is no longer quicker (if that makes sense. lol). So the power to weight thing really proves it's worth here.

Though 12 pages of comedy would attempt to desperately contradict that "fact". lol.

The problem is mate, when somebody has a **** box they cant stop themself from talking ****. They make up wee stories about beating cars that they can only dream of owning or being able to handle. Then when folk come on who know better and pour cold water over there fire, they try to claim a consolation prize which normally go's like "they take the bait everytime" when in actual fact there is no "bait". The FACTS are we all know these are bull**** made up stories but only some are will to admit to that

Bug eye WRX IS quicker than Gti6. FACT

Bug eye WRX IS quicker than stripped out Gti6. FACT

Stripped out Bug WRX is A LOT quicker than stripped out Gti6. FACT

Thats it, as simple as that. This thread no longer needs to continue

PMSL, you've been owned mate, sucked in good and proper. you may think it didn't happen, but I can quite easily see a GTI6 being at least as quick (or should it be slow?) as a WRX. You only have to look at 1/4 mile time and realise that the zero to sixty is the only reason the Scoob has a better time. It's an Impreza, it's not the fastest car in world despite some people belief.
I think this now needs to be settled. Get a GTI6 and a Bug eye WRX and a camera and post the result up... i'll happily join in and give the bug eye a pasting in my 10 year old Clio (yes pasting, as in MUCH quicker). I could even bring some passengers to make it fair...

Can't believe some people think group 17 insurance is for supercars ROFLMAO

That is indeed the cut and dry of it.

I'll be non argumentative, and with this post will stop fishing and state what are the real facts. You can only say "FACT" when that is indeed the case.

These kids on here see 0-60's and cream their pants. What they do not realise (and given time and 'experience' they will) is that in gear, incorporating power to weight there is little in it (with the aforementioned cars). Scoobs "launch" exceptionally well, giving their 0-60 times a boost.

Now, a Clio 172 Cup has a SLOWER 0-60 than a post classic WRX yet a FASTER 0-100 time. Now, after my old ****box was stripped out I had a little drive with Davyboy in his 172 Cup (me in the Pug). There was nothing in it, and by that I mean zero, zilch. The cars were equally as quick. So, if my car is as equally quick as his 172 Cup, which is PROVEN (there's that FACT word again) to be QUICKER than a WRX to 100 - there is all the evidence anybody with half a brain(cell) needs.

The FACT of the matter remains just.

Though the comical responses of denial just added a wonderful sheen to the whole thing.

What a class post! Oh please let me get drawn in

I have a ****box, (though its not ), its one of the most respected hot hatches ever, a 1.9 205 GTi - the one everything else is compared to. Am I making up wee stories about beating cars I could not afford? No.

I've had a 270bhp Uk Classic Turbo which would p!ss on a lard assed, slow bugeye WRX standard for standard or mod for mod. I've had a MKIV Supra Twin Turbo. I currently have an R33 Skyline GTR, 200SX (another bug eye toaster ), the 1.9 205 and a Yamaha FZ6 which would kick most cars asses.

So your argument is pretty much as holy as:

a) The Pope
b) Some lace/net curtains

Jesus! some of you people need to get out more!! If all your bothered about in a car is in 0-60, o-100 etc , why not go out and get a high powered Caterham or similar? Believe it or not but some scooby owners really couldnt give a **** if there out accelerated by some stripped-out hot-hatch, driven by some bloke with an inferiority complex! Some , like myself own the car because of how it drives-the traction, the character/sound etc ,power delivery. Iam sure the modified Clio Williams i owned before would just about keep up after about 40mph with the scooby i have now but so what- Ill keep the scooby me thinks.

I assume by this you refer to all of these WRX owners getting all upset?

After 14 pages I would disagree with this opinion.

Character?? An Impreza?? Sound is quite cool, I suppose you can tell your mates how you set off car alarms.

The thing is, everyone is getting upset cos they think we are rubbishing the Impreza, but not once has any of us said the Impreza is anything but superb - we wouldnt be on here if we didnt think so.

I would own one, but the car jacking puts me off.

As for Scoob owners not giving a ****, in my experience they absolutely hate it when I keep up with them in the 205, and even more so when I overtake them (the last Dales Run being an example)

Doing 911's at the 'Ring is good fun, though in that case it's mostly down to driver (in)ability, lack of experience on the track, or maybe them not wanting to spank there expensive motor; which is fair enough.

Unlike when against WRX's as in that case it's purely down to the fact they're not very quick. God forbid what a WRX around the 'Ring would be like with a poor driver!! Would take all day to get round!!!
