that was whne they had just come out and i ws in an , hold your breath , XR2 , so if an XR2 could show a 1.6 205 the way home then it must be faster than a wrx,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !!
Please point out where I said my Pug was std, or where I compared a std Pug to a Scoob, its an 850kg 205 pushing 200bhp, so it probably would whip you.

I also used to own a mint XR2, then some chav nicked it in Blackpool so I moved to a 205 GTI 1.6 - there was no competition, the 205 was leagues ahead in every aspect (and i've never seen any journos talking of the "iconic XR2") so i've stuck with the 205's in one shape or form since then, though as Senior points out I have dabbled in owning other marques. :b

It is all about the driver in the end though, the Pugs you've followed must have been piloted by 17 year old *********.

sorry but having 1986 240 bhp mk2 fiesta xr2 turbo @ 700 kg's and an evo 6, I can say for deffo that a gti6 isnt going to stay with evo 4 - 6 gsr or a sti sccobie running correctly and driven with meaning ,sheer grip and hp and the fact they have far better gearing ,the pugs are good but not that good ,
the fiesta will be 350 bhp next year 60-100 it will fly and it will have the top end to match but the evo goes and stays stable the fiesta never due to the brick like shape ,
its funny i could probably tow my fiesta with the evo to a faster top speed than the fiesta's gearing can go pmsl
this my cars faster than your car crap is boring me now ,
this is final! the gti6 isnt a wrc 306 or a 205 t16 get over it

Brilliant eh. 12 pages and still in denial. Fan-bloody-tastic.

I wonder how many people who profess their bug/blobeye WRX's are "well fast" end up selling them, and after they're sold saying "it weren't that fast anyway......."

Reminds me of a story - "The Emperors New Clothes".

Nothing better is there, an old ****box.

Can't wait to get back to Nurburg next year to take a few more scalps with the old piece of French clutter. I can picture it now, flying past all those scoobs amongst other things. The Scooby drivers with their bonnets up, scratching their head with their laptop plugged in to their oil filler caps talking about micro-chasms of fuel pressure peaks and troughs along with all time greats such as heat soak and knock links.

"Wow, that Pug is quick - what have you done to it???????"

"Err, not alot really".

yep, u sure will be flying, on the ramp that is when u have a buggerd drive shaft, wheel bearing, damper, ball joint................the list just go's on and on. U cant afford any mods coz all your money is spent on repairs. Im speaking from experience haven owned 2 pugs. Oh the joy of now owning a scooby means i dont worry about these things, i mean after all it is THE greatest car to ever grace our roads Enjoy your evening and please, stop having these wet dreams.

I've had 4 Pugs and nothing major has gone wrong with any *touches wood* oh and I've had a scoob too, not to mention Supra TT and Skyline GTR too, so I'm well versed in Jap thanks

And a further read of this thread will reveal DreamWeavers experience of 7 I think, all perfectly fine too.

Still, if they did break, they'd be SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper to repair

Now, wheres me bait and hooks gone...................
