How did you get on at Castle Combe? I saw a couple of cars on the M4 as I was heading home to Bristol that looked like trackday cars...thought of you.
Do you know what sort of lap times were you doing. From memory I did about 1:25 in std my99 UK a few years back. I was quite impressed as this would have put me about halfway up the grid for the CC saloon championship - their qualifying times were still on the notice board.

Had a brilliant day - most of it was about familiarisation and having a damn good giggle - I also spent some time with some very experieced drivers who should me how to go quickly without too much fuss.
Ok, first, the excuses. Had some issues with tyre pressures - the main one being that one of the rear dust caps had seized on meaning I couldn't get it off - car was oversteering but it was good fun and preferable to understeer. Also the pads were running out at an alarming rate, so even though my confidence was growing I was beggining to brake more gently to extend the day (they were down to the metal at 3.30). Finally, I didn't actually time myself although one of the lads timed me at 1m 27secs. I have know idea if this was a traffic free, late braking, tidy lap etc. etc. so it's not a great indicator. I'm up there again on the 4th October (if anyone fancies it) and I'll be taking a stop watch so will be able to give you a better idea of times then.
1m25secs in a standard UK is very respectable, as you know Coombe is all about the lines and the driver. I remember a 1.3 Starlet being one of the quickest cars at JapFest.
Speak to you soon

P.S. Just ordered the RA sticker . You should charge commision.

Car's been in for another remap and FWIW came in at 346bhp and 325lb/ft at 1.3 bar. I won't get any more then this without a turbo upgrade and 740cc injectors and the safety stuff's a priority, so may be a while before I see my magic 300bhp per tonne. Weighing in at 1240kgs at the moment which works out at 280bhp per tonne - not that far off!

Why not offer something we would actually be interested in like Cocaine!

Anyone wishing to know about this rarity would do well to read this thread. Of particular importance are the links and the links within links and so on. This is where, once you've trawled through the nonsense, you'll find the input of seasoned and knowledgable SNetters.
Hopefully at the end you will be as informed as the rest of us. Lot's still to unravel but we're getting there.

That's a WRX Type R Ltd - not an RA as they are all 4 door.
I think it was only available in Version 4 and has often been confused / called a 2 door RA.
Get onto typeRA.com and they can confirm this as they are far more knowledgeable than me.
