Is not all to do with the mileage, i was in a bar last night in North London with open front, I parked the scoob on the otherside of the road in sight.
I glance over to see two youths peering inside the car and i spent most of the night keeping an eye on the car.
I would love to just go out sometimes whether it be shopping/for a drink/whatever without worrying. I have been lucky enough so far to have nothing damaged on the car, but how many threads do you read on SN saying my cars been keyed or scratched etc?
Plus another £100 a week for mods sounds good.

Yup my Scoob is a weekend car now, i dont think that it has done more than 100 miles in the last 6 weeks
I have got a VW Golf GT TDi that I use on a daily basis, the worrying thing is that when i drive it i dont actually miss the Scoob

yes i am deffo in that group weekends and shows i have two other motors a crossfire soft top 3.2 V6 and a freelander for every day use so very lucky going touring to scotland next week so hope to be blasting down those twisties for some serious fun mick
yep i've got a essy 1.8 td, but i had to put it in my mums name because they wouldn't let me use my no claims on a second car - i'm still the same driver??? which meant it would of been £350 tpft when i was only paying £650 fc 2 years ago (24) on a MY00 turbo. how is everyone else getting round it?

Yep Suzuki Ignis Sport for the week, so JWRC fun for weekdays and then the STi for the weekends for pretend WRC rally hero fun on empty mountain roads! Also have an Ibiza Cupra Tdi as our other car, which is a lot quicker than we ever expected!
The STi has still done 6k miles in 8 months as a weekend car so it gets plenty of use.
Insurance wise Direct Line cover them all for a very reasonable price.
Just thinking about a change of toy though, to be honest I enjoy polishing (very relaxing) as much as driving!!

firstly how do u find the ignis sport, mate was interested in getting one, love all the aftermarket goodies available through suzuki, that and the dealer was nice.
lol
anyway my scoob is my 2nd car, i work shifts and tend to drive it not that much, but recently my love for the cars reignited and i've been driving a fair bit, still the bulk of my mileage is on my k reg 500quid clio diesel, that could change come tomorrow when it fails its mot lmao, depends on how much !
Used to use the scoob everyday but after an attempted car jacking I decided to get a second car for work. The amount I save on running costs on the scoob pays for the run around, also makes you appreciate the scoob much more when you do drive it
Hey Ralph,
the Ignis Sport is great fun as evo said 'there is a masochistic pleasure in driving the Ignis like an ****!' and they are right. Its hard sprung, the Recaros are great, you can chuck it about and the streo and aircon are both fab! It reminds me of being a youngster driving an AX GT again (excpt its better than that). Amazing how many admiring glances it gets! I bought a mint 04 car (just a year old in June) with 2200 miles on for £5,500 - an old geezer got it from new and I think it nearly broke his back. I call it 'PIgnis the licence saver' and the Mrs calls it that 'F'in yellow thing'. I have kept away from the extras so far but as I will soon be scoobless until I get my new weekend toy the Piggy is getting the full JWRC effect, stickers, foglamps the lot! Most of all I love the faces when a 'suit' gets out of a little hooligan car!!
The only extra it really needs is a sticker saying 'my other car is an STI'!
Get one you know it makes sense,
Mark

I have a '94 Astra 1.4 for every day. It's cheap to run, I can throw all sorts of garden rubbish etc into it and park it anywhere without a second thought. Also, running something like that is the biggest performance mod that you will ever make to your Scoob....if you see what I mean
My car is mainly used at weekends ony, thats only because I work away mon-fri, Could use my car for work and get paid 40p a mile but would be putting upt 1500 miles a week on it so I think thats a big no no, besides as sum 1 has said makes me appreciate the car a bit more after driving the mondeos all week
