Retired young, so it never was an issue.

You should of said: that's what I was trying to find out until I was rudely interupted, cause some people on Scoobynet reckon they're not all that and can be outdragged by a Chav Corsa or Nova!

I think Hanley got it right, he admited he was in the wrong, apologised said it wouldn't happen again etc and didn't waste everyones afternoon by pleading not guilty and coming up with a lame excuse. The friendly policeman helped too!

It very much depends on the magistrate though: If the 'friend' has a clean record and can argue that this was just a momentary and one off lapse of good sense on a clear road in good conditions, they might get away with 6 points and a fine.

Anything over 100mph should be a instant ban

My bro-in-law got caught for 117mph on the (empty) motorway at 1am whilst going thru his divorce.

56 days and about £500 iirc and that was about right I reckon.

Can't see an excuse for doing three figure speeds, or a good enough reason to complain at getting banned if you are caught.

3 Month Ban - £1K Fine and 6 points are the likely mix ..... oh and it knackers your insurance for 5 years .....

I got done 7 years ago for 101mph at 7:30am on a Saturday morning with no traffic around. £220 fine + £200 court costs, 14 day ban and no points! Was quite happy with that! My Insurance went up 15% on both cars though .......
