victim of street hype. 80mph in 5th gear in my classic is 3k revs. i can list a number of cars that are faster when i'm putting in that that kinda proformance.

I a straight line there are alot of cars that can pull well, but i just cant see any cdi, tdi, x5, range rove etc no matter how big the engine as a proformance vehicle.

proformance?

Anyway, on the subject of diesel and performance check out the figs for a 330d bmw if you want to see fast oilburners. There are a few 'repmobiles' around that aren't too lazy performance wise.

BTW I can't really understand your post

Another victim of the Impreza street hype.

A few basic mods will help the car, but not too much though.
a standard bug-eye wrx (2001) would still be classed as a quick car by car magazines even by 2005 standards. 0.60 in 5.7 and 0-100 in 16.5 would be classed as quick as a standard car particularly at the price. yes, i know theres lots of cars that are as quick and much more expensive ones that are quicker but as a standard car at the price its not bad. in fact, cant think of any other standard 2001 car in the same class ( sports saloon) and PRICE when new thats any quicker

Hear we go another SN BS post..!

Simple (for those who still rubbish the wrx):

Brother's got 330d, I've got a 05 WRX (we've driven both cars and it's conclusive) scoob is quicker..! Unless you've tried this (and know the driver) stop spurting rubbish about cars you've no experience of..!

chris what are you trying to say that the scooby is fragile and when it comes to an all out blast you have to hang back just in case the engine oil gets a little bit warmer by 10 degrees.lets put it this way if my beer was 10 degrees to warm then i would be upset but engine oil is designed to work at extreme temps and the engine is designed and tested for all types of driving. powerman

I'll use the figures you thrown at me to demonstrate the level of hype...

0-100 mph time (16.5 seconds) minus

0-60 time (5.7 seconds)

= 10.8 seconds 60-100 mph

But of course the car isn't slow, not when you compare it to your 1.4 litre hatch back, or 120 hp family saloon or a double decker bus or compared to a drunken walk back from the pub.

But this not the "super car rivalling" performance, yet we have WRX drivers assume they can go round kicking everyone's butts with it simply because of what some damn magazine says.

By the way, the natural aspirated Civic Type-R is quicker 60-100 mph time, and that car alone is just the tip of the iceberg.

I for one, didnt say the WRX is a slow car, all I'm saying isn't that fast, so don't go round revving in front of Porsches or you will end up making another whiney post on here about how you lost another race.
