STi V5 for sale! New thread
Nice to see so many people saying what a lovely car etc, but maybe these people should actually look at the car in the flesh before they make judgement and see for themselves the bits that need attention, I think a price reduction to cover the cost of replacing the discs that are on there last legs for example, as well as the paintwork and damaged bodykit needing attention and the U/S boot release is not unreasonable. This car needs a bit of TLC and the jobs done before it will sell at this price mate if you dont want to do the work to bring it up to scratch reduce the price.

Dave, thats not painting a very accurate picture. The boot release is fixed, I did it in 2 mins as its adjustable - working fine until 3 weeks ago
Discs have been pointed out and the price surely reflects that - fronts only worn.
Paintwork needing attention? There are 3 bad points which I am going to post pics of, and they are all on the PLASTIC, ie bumper. Easily fixed and very minor. If it was on metal, I would be concerned, but its not.
1) Round the corner of the front bumper, facing the wheel, there is small paint damage, about an inch paint loss.
2) Rear skirt corner has a hairline crack, possible where its been bumped off the kerb.
3) I cant remember but think there was a half inch scuff on the back bumper.
You seem to think that a car with 40k miles should be perfect, think you will struggle in the real world
Id like to add you havent actually seen the car either, just the misses and one of your mates
We discussed this via PM too...
Pics to come
Thanks for your kind words though

Mark, sorry mate I did not mean to sound so harsh as my last post read, the point I was making is that everyone is saying they cant understand why this car has not sold, the reason is because you have advertised it like its almost perfect but you must admit that it does have more faults then advertised originally. The mrs loved the car even with the minor faults you mention, but I am a fanny and I would need to get those bits seen to thats the only reason I asked for a reduction in price. I did not mean to cause offence mate. I am sure you will sell it, but I cant understand why you dont fix the silly little, cheap to rectify faults first and then sell it. Take care mate, good luck with the sale.
Some might say a perfect car has hidden secrets...
I've seen and driven this car, I know the bits you are talking about but they are hardly major. You say 'because you have advertised it like its almost perfect' well it is isn't it, it has two or three very minor issues on plastic bits which make it nearly perfect
. Inside I would say was perfect. It is a tidy car for the year and a good price.
I only looked at it with a view to p/x on an S2000 but couldn't bring myself to return to scoob ownership let alone sell the S.
Good luck with the sale Mark.

Mark,
You might want to send those pics to somewhere like Little Knocks and get them to give you an estimate on repairing them. I think you'll find it will be a very small sum indeed, gives you some come back if someone trys it on with them. Good set of front discs from Godspeed, about £150 (?) This is already a bargin, I wouldn't reduce its price much further.

No, I have decided against a P1, and a scooby altogether, I am looking for a Skyline R33 GTR, drove one the other day and fell in love

Mark,
It's a shame you didn't have this car when I was looking for a version 5,but then you wouldn't have swapped it for an L reg import
(or would you???).
All the best with the sale, and for anyone wishing to buy it I would prefer to buy a car privately from this man than any dealer, and he definately knows how to look after cars.
Regards
Dean
(Now trying to explain to the wife I can justify 2 subaru's for 200miles a month
)
