Thanks again, most appreciated.

Default brake in coating

just got my red stuff ceramics today, rears have brake in coating on them, fronts don't.can anyone confirm if i got right thing as i find it strange for one set to have coating, and not the other.
part nos seem right
front-DP31200C
rear-DP3821C
andys on holiday, but guy i spoke to at camsport seemed to think they were early ceramics which didn't come with coating on them.
dont want to fit them as im also fitting new discs incase they are old stock

can anyone shed any light on this
thanks for any help

When I spoke to Andy last week to order front and rears for my 03 STi I asked him to confirm that the pads were the later generation items and he said that although he still had some of the old stock he would not sell these unless they were specifically requested.
He said he had a set of fronts for my car (Brembos) in stock, but needed to order some rears.
I believe he'll be back on the 4th, so I would contact him then if I were you.

Any chance if I speak nicely to Andy when he gets back I might be able to jump on the end of the list??

got mine today, just fitted fronts. ive got a p1, the fronts supplied had the bedding in compund, and the rears dont. another uestion i got is regarding the shims, there are some supplied with the new pads, so i stuck these on like stated in the instructions, and then there are two originals fitted, so i only fitted the ones that the pistion press against. is that correct, or should i have fitted both original shims, given me a total of 3 per side??

Dave

I gotta be honest, mine were done by my mechanic. However, I watched him do them, and from memory he only used the new shims, not the old ones.

There were no new shims for the rears, so he used the old ones.

Also, so far as I can remember, there is only 1 shim per pad.

If this is wrong, please correct me, but this is what I observed when mine were done.

Thanks

Nev

I have just spoken with Andy, and because he had a holiday, he feels that he didnt give the group buy enough time and is happy to extend it.

you need to look at the site again cuz you'll be buying the wrong pads if you think its cheaper there. £100 for redstuff front pads.
