Wazza

Are you driving round in an marked or unmarked Omega ? I'm living in Prestwood, working in Chesham and round Amersham a bit. Luckily Ive not had the pleasure of meeting you in a professional sense

Will always remember being pulled 6 or 7 years ago after the roundabout near Tesco's in Amersham by TVP. Female and male get out, the male looking about 17 Asked to explain my superb display of overtaking - 2 lanes on the Great Missenden side and one on the Chalfont St Giles one. Then asked if it was my car - it was a company one and would I drive it like that if it was my own. Finally asked if I felt I was an agressive driver - had to admit to it. Luckily the female was the sargeant and decide to make me show my license at the station. No ticket. Good policing as it had its affect, 99% of the time. Still need an anti red mist device ocassionally. I think the young lad would of taken a different approach.

Is Aylesbury policed differently as about 8 months ago it seemed to be camera vans and traffic police everywhere with speed guns, even though there are 2,000 cameras in Aylesbury. Dont seem to see the same number around Amersham way - although Asheridge Road in Chesham could do with a visit some time - make sure I'm on business first.

Cheers

Jonathan

Jonathon Hi,
I am often in Prestwood I hate Chesham too many cone heads!

We have a selection of cars, marked and unmarked so could be in either

We have alsorts of technology in the unmarked car that you want to be careful of, so chill when we are around coz bad boys just get caught by this piece of kit. Good boys oh and of course girls have nothing to fear

I too love that bit of dual on the missenden By pass towards Amersham My bike just wooshes along Honest officer I was only doing 70 remind myself to be more concious of speed limit

As two ex Scooby owners from Prestwood have now converted to Accord Type R's in a bid to lower the average speed through South Bucks, please be aware that the VTEC engine will sieze if not exercised occasionally
The bad boy Sadler is in a black one, the saint in a silver one

I always give way to blue Omega's for some reason.

Prestwood is the ex Scooby capital of Britain as both owners had their cars pinched from their houses last year - Ian and me

I'm from the cwmbran area originally, everytime i go home to visit the folks dads always telling me to be very careful with my speed, said in the last 2 years they have really gone mad for catching any motorist even slightly exceeding the limit. While there the only police i saw were on the pontypool - abergavenny duel carrageway sat in a layby pointing the gun down the 1 1/2 mile arrow straight, that really is just unfair fortunatly i was travelling with my mate so was sat letting him keep up (he's got a mg b roadster, 55mph is the cruising carrrageway speed) these roads are empty on the straight were probably 5 cars max, i bet i'd have been pulled for 75mph .

In oxford where i live i wish there were more traffic police, i bet every 5th car is uninsured, no mot or tax and the drivers are a%rs*holed.

CWMBRAN OH YES know it well, The Gwent Police like to nab motorists dont they, they used to love to catch police recruits who were on their way to the Training school in Cwmbran.
We do ANPR ops in Oxford regularly and the motorcycle boys are kept busy, we do catch loads of Dodgy geezers in Oxford between Green Banbury road roundabout and the city.

I just had an interesting encounter with the police a few weeks ago
I was pulling up to a ‘give way’ at a roundabout (in a built up area).
I gave way to the car coming from my right (at high speed). I noticed it was a black Impreza. He turned up the road I’d just come from. I then continued, exiting the roundabout at the second left.
I only got a couple of hundred yards when I saw the blue flashing lights in my mirror. I thought they wanted to pass, so I slowed. They flashed their headlights at me so I stopped. They accused me of doing 80-100 mph in a 30 mph zone. They had apparently been chasing ME for the last few miles. I tried to tell them it wasn't me, they wouldn't listen. “After all how many black Impreza's are there around here” they said. “Four that I know of actually”, I told them. Of course they didn’t believe me when I told them I saw the car they wanted going in the opposite direction. They were absolutely adamant they had the right car. They were trying to pressure me into an admission. One of them even had the cuffs ready. I told them I was just on my way to the Chinese takeaway, my engine hadn’t even got up to temperature yet. They reluctantly agreed that my engine was cold so I couldn’t have been the one they were chasing. I was told to watch my speed and sent on my way WITHOUT an apology.
So anyway, if I had just been for a run, and my engine was fully up to temperature, then I would have had no defense against their accusations, and would probably have been arrested for something I was completely innocent of.
It wasn’t traffic division, so no onboard video. It would have been the word of two policemen against mine.

I've had that - apologised and said it wasn't me - but if they wished to take it further I couldn't stop them ..... got a producer all the same .....

Fair enough I thought as some years previously I had an Astra diesel trying to catch me for 9 miles (cross country) whilst I was in the wife's 1.2 Cincequento Sporting and averaging about 90mph ....... allegedly! They let me off with a caution.

That is stretching things a bit in my opinion.

You'll obviously go to heaven Wazza, letting that one go.

Now that would be telling I think many officers get the offer but actually taking them up would be dangerous (Nice thought though)

Without fear or favour is the motto

If you let him off that, then you should be made chief constable of, err, Europe!!!

Always had good experiences with coppers; your (edit: the punter's) attitude is the key. I got a fixed pen for 116 once whilst a mate who's a copper got done by a colleague for 84. Luck of the draw - like in any shop/call centre

Latest police experience was after having my Scoob nicked from an airport. From the police car I asked another Scoob driver who was parking up if he'd seen mine at all (he hadnt). Naturally he was gutted having to leave his there after hearing of my loss, but the coppers mentioned to me they had been keeping a serious eye on it whilst it was there. Top chaps.

As someone says they are all mostly normal, common or garden petrol heads
