Ebay idiots...
I sold an old, leaky Laser sailing dinghy to someone for £200 - which was a pretty realistic price considering the state it was in. Eighteen months later it arrives back at the sailing club having been sold on ebay for £630
and the new owner thinks he got a bargain...

Problem is, as a none runner its worth nowhere near the £2700 i've put into it since last September
Last week I saw some sanded down and repainted red, Ford badges going for £12 with 2 days to go!!
. I went down my local scrappy the next day and felt like cramming as many Ford badges in my pockets as possible and making a bit of dollar

Some amazing stories here!!
Do these people who "win" these fabulous bargains always pay up, or do the majority wake up the following morning, realise what an eejit they've been, and default on the trade?

I was after a gearknob and a new gear gator and odds and sods like that. I want a standard dump valve too but I can't find one at the moment
I bought my first thing on ebay recently but now having serious problems with PayPal... thought it was really good up until then. Try adding funds after expanded use number etc but it just say's unverified. Really getting to the seller. Problem is he's in japan...

There's nothing like profiting from anothers misfortune

PS have you tryed looking for a BX 16V? I've seen them in the trader for next to no money
I've sold a few things on Ebay for decent money but here's my latest nightmare selling on Ebay.
I sold the following -
4 7x18 Mille Miglia 12 Spoke Alloys in Gold with 215/35/ZR18 tyres - ET52
2 Wheels with new (less than 200 miles of wear) Kumho Ecsta Tyres.
1 Wheel with nearly new (plenty of tread) Pirelli P7000
1 Wheel with worn (down to thread) Pirelli P7000.
Right a couple of the wheels had quite a few kerb marks etc etc so I wasn't asking silly money for them. I'd even put pics on Ebay to show the scuffs as best as I could. So anyway they went for £320 - not bad I thought and for the buyer as well baring in mind he got 3 almost brand new tyres which would have cost almost that much anyway.
Right so sale ended and I was going to charge 50 to post them to anywhere in the uk. The guy wanted to pick them up though so I travelled some 50 miles (100 mile round trip) to meet him near where the wheels were kept and didn't ask for any petrol money. So got to Silverstone services and got the wheels out and he was like 'oh um they're kerbed etc etc' I'm thinking.. here we go..... He said would I take an offer for them.....my response.....NO WAY. So I got the money and made my way home and then he rings me saying they are too kerbed and wanted me to come and give him his money back! as you can imagine I told him what he could do and that was it!
It just really annoyed me I'd gone out of my way so he wouldn't have to pay for postage and he tried to mess me about, he also asked if they were buckled (now, I'm not a tyre/wheel specialist) so all I said was when they were on my scooby I had no problems with them what so ever. He's prob a memeber of this site, I hope he is in a way as I thought he was a right pr!ck!
