You can set an "overspeed" alert, it will also display the journey time and average speed. Don't think it records the max speed.

Just for info, had the Road Angel "Classic", now have O-b2...far better. Has more tailoring features if you want them, but they don't get in the way. Not difficult to fit (as mentioned by several others). Database seems to be FAR more up to date the RA (quite honestly, RA's left me wondering sometimes, as it appeared I was the only one submitting new sites!), and the b2 has an automatic alert that reminds you to update the unit....simple connector that has its own power feed, that then goes into COM1 serial port....just remember, if you're upgrading from RA to b2, remove the RA s/w (it auto starts in Windows System Tray, thus blocking COM1 port for itself, therefore preventing Origin s/w from seeing attached b2 device...easy "gotcha")

Finally (my 0.02 worth), its far easier than connecting/disconnecting wires to the unit each time (primary reason for me swapping)....can't fault it.

HTH,

Spen

Spen,

That sounds like you can't have both sets of software on at the same time or is it possible to stop the RA auto-loading to the systray and only fire it up when needed from the desktop?

I was thinking of getting a b2 and giving my RA to my old man for his car so would need to keep updating both units...

How readable is the b2 display in sunlight and does it reflect onto the screen at night if you have it on the dash? Is it adjustable for viewing angle? I made a shade for my RA classic and the new version has one in the kit AFAIK so they've acknowledged the "problem"

TIA

Andy

PS unless the current g/b is going to last until the pda data cable comes out in October-ish or later, count me out for now

I don't fancy running the scoob with both units on the dash as a look-see to find out if it works - it's already like Blackpool illuminations with the gauges

Good - I see that origin now limit the warranty to 28 days if the seller is not approved.

Can you pm me details of where to send cheque or if transaction can be done via card over phone\online.

I'll second that - Cheers Aps

Had the B2 in for just over a week now, installation was easy, even for me - the hardest part was deciding where to run the cables.

Received the unit about a week after I posted the cheque - and Aps had included the dealer code required to register with Origin.

Really pleased with it - although there is the temptation to go looking for speed traps to test the thing! I've already found 2 DS2 camera's that I didn't know about...

A couple of minor probs but these are easily resolved I gather - the unit needs stronger magnets to hold it in the cradle better - i travel over a lot of v rough roads and although it doesn't jump out much it tends to reset if I knock it with my hand or try to use the menu's while driving. The only other thing is siting - I've placed mine next to the ashtray (MY00) and TBH this is a little too out of sight - I might try repositioning it on top of dash in the near future.

I think this little unit is a bargain - cheers Aps.

My supplier has got the second car cradles in stock.
He also has the LRC 100 laser jammers(garage door opener) in stock and will be doing these at good rates.
