Hi Richie
we saw your scoob going in the opposite direction to us earlier, just posted it in 'was it you' lol, before i saw this !
is that the prom rally you're talking about ? we wanted to go to that, but don't know if our scoob will be ready in time

Fantastic day Frank - thanks for the effort you put into it all - it was excellent!
Good driving, good cars and great people - See you all again soon.
Paul
PS - I had about 15 missed calls from Julian when I checked my mobile - and a text message saying he'd got back home (before me) - Have you got a teleporter in that car of yours fella? :

A good day out (apart from me missing that junction... DOH!)
Hopefully have more time on the next run out, decided it was better than filling boxes full of stuff

redwrx's tour of welsh carparks :)
Ok, here we are:
started from pcworld in stockport, with 2 smacs regulars, myself (with supertouring navigating) and madscientist, with a guest appearance from tonyburns in the lovely SPEC C.
Also in attendance is rizzy, with the lovely evo 8 fq340, nice car m8 pity you couldn't work out how to speak into the radio
Off to the meet proper at Helsby services on the M56:
Here's one of frank with car matching t-shirt
The smacs, deep in conversation on the "merits of mud flaps in dry weather"
And so onto our next carpark stop of the day, the lovely conwy castle (at least I think it was conwy castle, after going around it so many times, I was getting dizzy )
Some of the best parked scoobys I've seen in a long time
and finally, the last carpark of the day and the dearest by far , the lovely beaumaris:
Thanks for a great day out frank, and nice to meet you all, some for the first time. Hope to see some of you again in september, when the smacs will be over for a mini invasion.
See you then,
chris.
ps. video to follow, too knackered to do it tonight

What a class day out .... !!! So glad that i managed to get a booking for the sunshine when i did. Really glad everyone enjoyed it. Such was the success - the g'f is now a complete convertee...and is looking forward to the prom rally this saturday.
The pics were great, and really sum it up... ive got a couple i took with the moby fone , so hope to up load them tonite.
Couple of highlights for me ...but the best have to be >
1. Getting a 'group buy', on the Orme Toll road (ssshhhh, i told the guy i wudnt tell anyone)
2. The guy at Beaumaris petrol station ....."which car is Yours"? ,,,,answer - "the Subaru" (take your pick theres 15 on the forecourt)
3. The look's on peoples faces when you drive round ......"Priceless".
And the award to the cleverest person of the day, goes to a bloke in Caernarfon talking to his son as we passed- " i think they're Subaru's son" .... And he can read..!!!
Frank

good day out frank but............
wot happened to..............
I estimate about 180miles for the Loop.
I am proposing this to be a leisure drive, to avoid frightening anyone who wants to bring kids, and to keep PC Plod happy, as the eye in the sky is often about. with several regroups etc, i estmate potentelly taking 4 - 5 hours
my trip counter showed 270 when i finally got home! and more like 8 hours!
i didn't mind but the g/f and baby wern't too impressed, so i had to stop to sort them both out (no rude comments) and decide it was best to make our own way home from the middle of north wales!
sorry for the neg comments, but it as a good day out, even paying £2.50 for half hour on a car park!
i won't even start about wot the g/f said about me and others driving quickly.........

Frank/Chris and all who helped organise,
thanks for a superb day out! The organisation was excellent - maps, optimax stops, brief stops to re-group - and it made the day so much more enjoyable without having to worry about where we were going and whether we'd run out of fuel somewhere! Extremely well planned.
Highlights of the day:
1) A man jumping up and down on the Evo triangle, shouting "Whoo go for it mate" at me just as I was having a 'brown-pant' moment setting myself up for a corner with brakes fading (Very enthusiastic observer!)
2) The group buy on the Orme Toll road and Frank's powers of persuasion
3) The guy in the white WRX who tagged along near the end was hysterical! For those not there, he'd only had his car a few weeks and hadn't seen any other scoobies, he said he couldn't believe his eyes when a dozen of us drove past him in the car wash. He was so excited he followed us to ask what was going on!
It was great to meet you all and have such a memorable day out. If there's any video footage let me know! We'll see some of you at the rally on Saturday.

Hi there.
To TURBORAY, yup the Scooby with the Amercian graphics is the one you've seen at Parc Menai. I haven't been there in a while, but our offices in Caernarfon are moving to a vacant office in the Parc. Which means you will see (and hear) more of the car around there as of September.
Cheers for the great day out ppl, had an ace time. As Frank Spencer would say 'I got a bit of trouble...' - had the car Prodrive upgraded last Friday at Threeways. All seemed OK, until we parked at Conwy castle and noticed that petrol was dripping from somewhere under my car!! Eek.
Seems like someone may have fitted the fuel pump on my car with some space to spare ie enough space for petrol to come out of the tank when I turn corners! Marvellous. Hope to get this sorted out before I got on the track at Ty Croes on Sat!
later
Jas.

Cheers Frank – Thanks for organising this. Great day out and you are the Group buy specialist - far better than Richie !!!!
A few photos for you.
Afraid I didn’t take many – I was always “going to take some later” but things did get a whole lot quicker later on – those who left early should have hung on !!!!
Julian – Appreciate your comments about the “leisurely drive” and having the family in the car with you and I’m sure Frank does too. If we do another family day, maybe we can put a few extra short stops in for people who, understandably, need to take it easy.
Hopefully see you Saturday.
Carl

Anyway....great time. Nice meeting some old and new faces. It's been a while.

Julian..., fully appreciate your comments mate. Like you, i had (new) g'f and back row full of ankle biters with me.
Unfortunately getting stuck behind a few grannies didnt help on the bottom end of the route. The intention was for those who wanted a play to head off ahead, and for rest of us to catch up at our own leisurely pace, but as time started to get on, we up'd the pace a bit on the later stages.
Tis always a bit awkward when organising events trying to maintain a balance, keep everyone together as possible, make sure there's places to 'fill up' etc, and most of all - ensuring we all enjoy ourselves....... hopefully i/we got the balance near right.
I clocked 400km (240mile) or 210 miles Helsby to Helsby ...so my estimate wasnt tooooo bad.
Hope to see as many as possible this saturday at the prom rally

My passengers and I really enjoyed the day. Thx Frank, class job
Splitting up into groups i think is an excellent suggestion. Not only will it let people choose what pace they want to take but also smaller groups would make it easier to keep everyone together and navigate through the traffic Imo. This would need to be explained to people at the beginning though. Frank and the others I thought did an excellent job at this though with one large group!
That evo triangle, wow. Not had that much fun with my cloths on for a while. It was grate to really 'try' and put the car though its paces for the first time on that sort of road. Also respect to the guy with the Audi. With a full car you did incredibly well m8.
I'm looking forward to the next time

Frank, what an amazing time
My favourite highlight:
The faces, the faces were the funniest I've ever seen, the kids had never seen anything like it & their eyes lit up as their little arms pointed at the big spoilers,
just sheer amazement spread quickly across the whole street as the first few scoobys fearcely rumbled through the village, only to notice that what they first thought was a few turned into a huge line of 20, jaw dropping entertainment all round.
Thank you so much for such a great day out & I'm really pleased your girlfriend enjoyed it, it will be nice to see more ladies at meets.
