Either will work but I think self raising will give a light more airy pancake.

BTW thanks for the reminder, I will get the ingredients on my weekly shop this evening mmmmm

Use plain flour See here for recipe.

The best pancakes I ever had were from a small catering van in the service park at Rally Germany and had a Baileys filling - yum

Plain flour. Same mix as Yorkshire pudding, just a bit runnier.

I based a large part of my best man's speech about my mate on the fact that we got together on pancake day and he was very good at tossing pancakes - which led to him receiving a certain nickname. "At least, I think that's how he got it." Went down a storm, not least when an 80-yr-old gran piped up "What's so funny about pancakes?"

Just been informed that I will be tossing later this evening, pinch of cinnamon sounds like a good idea, may give that a whirl in one batch

Am fully tooled up and ready for action. It's the only time I let Mr DBW (aka IM) into my kitchen!

Savoury pancakes to start - creamy mushroom and bacon. Followed by a traditional ones with a selection of brown sugar, lemon juice, bananas, maple syrup, cream, coconut and blueberrie sauce (not all at once......)

Quick recipe for Blueberry topping. Stick the juice of 1 lemon, aroung 50g sugar and a good pinch of cinamon in a saucepan. Warm it till the sugars all melted. Then add a small punnet of blueberries and warm through till the juices are running a bit, but they still have their shape. (Plus blueberries are very good for you!)
