me if i can get an early start a work! i should be doing 6 12 in the evening, but i'll find an excuse! but i'll feel a bit embaressed in my sube cos it's not the tidiest one around, plus its an everyday car so it's full of **** and not be washed for god knows how long!

I think the fuel pump has gone. Will be ordering one tommorrow, hopefully that will cure it. It was meant to be on its way to AndyF in Edinburgh on Thurs night!!!!

who's got a white classic sti?, saw on in parr about 8 going along derbyshire hill road.

andy, wots up with her? you never know i may be able to help! i've got a spanner or two, and fixed my own once or twice. and if its that bad i use a sube scrapyard in hayfield, Grade A, if you'd heard of them.

 

theres a fuel prob, the fuel pump is only kicking in occassionally, then the car is really rough on tick over and cuts out ( thats if it comes on )

So gonna order a new one today

before you spend your funds on a new fuel pump, ....not sure of your car mate, mines an MY93 ....i had fuel problems, and it turned out to be an electrical connection fault, the cable had burnt itself out, i tried replacing the fuel pump, and obviously it wasnt that. Try measuring the voltage etc at the connector to the fuel pump ..... any probs..

Frank shame you wont be coming, must say though m8 you car is looking very very nice. love the graphics on it the gold looks spot on and i even like the rear lights, looking very sexy

 

so is it on then? i can only get there about 8.15 cos i fin work at 8. so i'll come in my work clothes, i'm not proud!!!!!!!!!!

Its a MY98 STi V5. I have ordered one ( just an excuse really to get an uprated pump, lol ) hopefully this will cure it, if not I will try that.

Just got back from an icy trip across the pennines - what paint the gritters havent taken off my car is supposed to be green but tonight will be a sh1tty brown colour - will be there for 8 - with a wooly hat and gloves - f f f freezin!!

Doubt I'm gonna make it guys, the car is still out of service.

Just rplaced the fuel pump with a nice new FSE one but the car stil will only occasionly run with the accelerator pressed, then cuts out.

Any ideas?

Does anyone have a spare MAF sensor I could lend for twenty mins, just to see if this what has gone on my car?

i may have a MAF sensor you can try ...plus it only takes 10 mins to get them off.
