Gentlemen,
This is turning to Rat **** I am afraid. Not sure if somebody is taking the Michael.
Here is the complete correspondence.
I have liaised with Mark A. and Catalunya throughout. On Tuesday I e-mailed Catalunya`s contact ($680) and I have repeated the e-mail this evening as I have heard nothing. In the meantime earlier today Mark A. contacted `Hybrid` and despite asking them three times for answers to out questions and sensible dialogue on how we are going to do this they only seem interested in sending an invoice and taking payment for 15 units. Does not look to me like they have absorbed what has been sent to them so it does not fill me with confidence and while I am quite happy to get presents of boost guages and catch tanks I am angry at the bribe.
If they havn`t shaped up in the next 24 hours I think it would be wise to look elsewhere. eg. The USA, possibly Greddy but these are only my thoughts. Please let me have yours.
Regards,
Harvey

(This evening, Thursday 27.11.03)

Look, This is all very well but I am trying to organise a group buy and the guys involved have asked a load of questions and I have passed them on to you for you to answer. Now nothing is going to move forward until you answer these questions fully along with your full company name address and web site.
I have already stated that we will guarantee ten units but it might be for more as fifteen people have expressed an interest but not committed themselves in any way. Please read what has been sent to you.
Sorry I cannot make it any clearer.
Regards,
Harvey.

Gentlemen,
The attached e-mail was sent Tuesday to a contact of Catalunya/Steve Connelly who had been offered FMIC Hybrid kits for 680$ shipped to individual addresses in the UK. At the present time the e-mail remains unanswered.
Please work on the basis of a firm requirement for ten units because as is always the case in these group buys, some people drop out. Ten would be a minimum however, maybe a few more. To firm up commitment I intended to take £100 from each participating buyer which would be passed on to the supplier and help to ensure the minimum hassle to the supplier.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Harvey Smith.

Hello,

I understand you have been speaking to Steve Connelly/Catalunya regards a group buy for Hybrid FMICs and I have been asked to organize this.
Steve tells me they will cost $680 each and you would send out to each group buy member providing there were at least ten participants. We now have interest expressed from 16 people but as you will understand in these types of situation a lot of people can fall by the wayside. I also know that these group buys can become cumbersome with numerous requests for information and lots of tooing and froing.
If we can sort out the detail between us I think it will be possible to set this up easily and avoid the pit falls. It would be my intention to collect a deposit from each participant to ensure they were fully committed to the group buy and this in turn would be passed on to you.
Could you give us a further discount if all intercooler kits were delivered as a single shipment to one address in the UK for sub-distribution? Alternatively, I would provide you with full details of all participants along with the commitment fees.
Questions :
What size are the cores and overall size?
Are all the intercoolers the same?
Are these for MY93-00 or do you also have for new age 01+?
Are the intercoolers complete and ready for fitment?
Is the pipe work hard pipe with silicone joiners or all silicone?
Are there any colour choices on intercooler or pipe work?
Do we have to dispense with fog lights to fit these kits?
Can you handle an order for ten or in excess?
What sort of delivery can you offer us? Not all kits would be required at the same time.
What methods of payment do you use?
If you need any more information please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Harvey Smith

Harvey,

i'll keep interrested in a groupbuy as long as it won't exceed the 850 Dollar. I'll also have some contact's with some shop's and will try to get an equal deal as posted before if you like. Meanwhile i'll get some info. if it's a alternative i'll post it here

Mmmmm, seems strange that they can't answer some fairly straight forward questions.

On the up side, they do seem on the ball about the sending the invoice out

What about the Apexi? There's a company in the UK (advertises in banzai i think) that said they could do the subaru kit for £750. Seems to get very good reviews despite it's smaller sized core (which i must say that most after market FMIC cores are way oversized.... have you seen the size of the Norris Greddy intercooler, seems to do well for its size ).

Top man for trying to get this organised...doesn't look like an easy job.

Hopefully we'll get some answers soon, in the meantime..i'll have a look for alternatives for a group buy too.

Gentlemen,
As you are already aware I asked a lot of questions and here is what eventually came back, along with an invoice for 79,245 Hong Kong $

Questions :
What size are the cores and overall size?
Dimensions:

Core Length : 24" (600mm)
Core Height: 12" (300mm)
Core Thickness: 3" (75mm)
Inlet Size: 3" o/d (75mm)
Outlet Size: 3" o/d (75mm)
"End to End" Length: 32" (800mm)

Are all the intercoolers the same? yes

Are these for MY93-00 or do you also have for new age 01+? not yet

Are the intercoolers complete and ready for fitment?yes

Is the pipe work hard pipe with silicone joiners or all silicone?3 layes
silicon with reinforcement

Are there any colour choices on intercooler or pipe work?no only chrome

Do we have to dispense with fog lights to fit these kits? fog light stays

Can you handle an order for ten or in excess? yes

What sort of delivery can you offer us? Not all kits would be required at
the same time. all in one go is better

What methods of payment do you use?T.T

If you need any more information please do not hesitate to contact me. I
look forward to your response.
Regards,
Harvey Smith

OK so we now know that Hybrid and duilay are one and the same.

Has anybody else had any dealings with them?

The info on fog lights conflicts with that posted earlier by A.N. Other.

Please let me have your thoughts and comments.

Perhaps you guys should have read my earlier post in this thread : ) .They have a serious attitude problem at least in Aus anyway

I'm betting 5 cents (you do the conversion) the FMIC is shipped from Aus even though you pay the Asian site or vice versa.

Is the invoice price based upon 10 units or for all of us on the group buy?

Presumably it includes shipping, but not the dreaded VAT and import tax?

They don't seem to clarify what the price is for? one unit? two? or as many as we want i doesn't come across to me as the company being dodgy as some other people seem to have bought off them before... but they need to be more helpfull and give us confidence me thinks... we need to know what the price is for?

Ok, I hope the price is for 15 kits which works out at £399 each.
All we need is somebody to comfirm this company is not about to take Harvey for a 5K and each of us for £100 ride.

Anybody used them?
Anybody know them ?
Anybody live near them ?
Who did DavidMy99 purchase his FMIC from ?
David how can you be sure you need to lose the fog lamps when yours are missing ?

May be we demand to pay buy CC, paypal or some other secure method. If they are keen to do business they must be able to sort this out.
Finally Powerdigger.com gets mentioned on alot of Oz Skyline forums may be we can seek advice and reassurance here.

Harvey, cheers for all your hard work, and may be we all cough up another £40 each and send you over to check them out !
