I thought they were different from the standard ones by having different design to give a larger cooling capacity?

I seem to remember that they are the same external dimensions but the internals (design of the fins etc) is different and gives a lot higher capacity for cooling.
But you know me - I could have got it completely ar$e about face

Andy F advised me to get either an sti5 or 6 intercooler after my second re-map when the weather gets warmer. Now the weather is getting warmer i think it's time to get one.I dont want to pay for a new one and found these today.I know they look a bit tatterd but nothing a few hours with a pair of tweezers wont cure.I also think they are a good price,The one from Aberdeen will let me have it for £170 and that includes postage and the otheis for £140 without postage.Iv been told by Andy that these intercoolers are miles better than the standard one that we have at the mo and the y pipe on the sti ones are so much better
PS i think that must be the longest post iv ever done
and now my fingers are sore
See you all at the meet tonight

having said that, how many times do you fill the clucth resevoir?
if you kept the OEM one, you would have to tilt/take the intercooler off to fill the resevoir.

Flin, it's probably too late now if you've bought an STi8 TMIC but Harvey is selling Hybrid FMICs for £565 all in, next day delivery.
