Yes mate thats it. Andy F has something simular on his TMIC if you look in the centre. Distributes air evenly to the intercooler.
Slightly different to ones I have seen but idea is the same.

Gruppe S has it's own uppipe doesn't it? A PITA one that leaks on the V1 manifolds. The V2 are much better.
The problem is getting a good seal at the connection to the headers I think?
Flex uppipe does help yes and should be on there but the Gruppe S uppipe is a special length one....
