Andy F doesnt put a bigger smile on your face than what i do
Not wishing to pee on any bonfires but the individual improvements (and smiles) will very much depend on how the car is currently running.
On a std car running standard boost the gains are considerable however for example on a TD04 turbo'd UK car with minor mods (decat/filter) which has been running with a dawes to increase the boost then the EcuTek custom remap may not produce a great improvement to power.
It is possible that at the higher boost level the car is already running close to the edge (of safety) and regaining an appropriate safety margin can offset some of the gains achieved by remapping which involves optimising the fueling, ignition and boost pressure.
I'm not sure what anyone has been told with respect to power improvements, I certainly can't say how much the improvements will be without datalogging the car as it currently runs.
Thought I'd best mention this before the event rather than after !!
I can't but there is software out there somewhere that can do it hence the PPP versions.
Best option is an Apexi Power FC which is barely any more expensive than a remap anyway !
Does having our cars remapped mean that our Dawes devices are now redundant? What I mean is, can we take the Dawes off and Andy can program the ECU to do exactly what the Dawes device was doing?? Or does the Dawes have to be there to retain higher boost?
