No Steve, your wrong there. From MY99 onwards the Standard ECU's can be remapped via the Ecutek route, and is extremely good when you get a specific map for your modifications.

 

So I could have my std ecu re-mapped to take full advantage of my (very basic) mods? Oooooooh sounds good! What's involved and what sort of money are we talking???

well i need to do summat with it - i want (need!) more power!!!! can't really think of anything else i can do it without spending shedloads of cash making major changes (like different turbo, fmic etc)
