I may be wrong but I don't think it will fit your 98 type R mate. I can see from the history of posts that you have been asking for ages whether it will fit but haven't had an answer.

Have a look on Scoobysport website for fitments but I think the 98 is different to the 99/00. Or put a post on Drivetrain asking for advice.

If it DOES fit then I would expect that you would have first refusal on it

Sorry for missing questions guys's, but I it will NOT fit any Scoob upto and including 98MY UK or upto and including STi4.
This DV bolts directly onto the Top mounted intercooler such such as what is fitted on the P1 (STi5/6).
Loads of enquiries, but no cheques received...

mm, mine is a 98 sti wrx version5 type r?

seems to fall between the two, it has a top mounted intercooler

 

Hi Scoobynew, it only came with whatever spring it had in it.
I believe you can request a service pack direct from Forge, which consists of red spring, shims and a service kit free of charge if you ask nicely...

Hi Cactus, if yours is an STi5 then it will fit.
check that the DV you have under your bonnet bolts directly onto your intercooler on top of your engine. It should be silver with gold end cap including a vacuum take off tube.
If you can answer yes to this, then it will fit!

Beamer, sorry dude, but I have had guys indicating one minute they are really interested, haggling the price down and down, then not returning my emails .
Cactus was the first dude not to try and haggle even more.
Cactus was also the first guy to say that he was sending me a cheque.
If anything falls through I will let you know if you would still be interested.
