i would say it is still under 300. The big gain is when you decat the downpipe IMO.

Disco: No it's an MD304 from Lateral Performance.

I would guess it will be close to 300 with the decat.

Disco, sorry for the confusion. I installed the FMIC with the td04, about a month before i installed the turbo, injectors, and link.

Nice result Kenny, especially for a TD04. Sorry if I missed it but what was the trap speed?

103mph John Prior to these results if you'd been asked to guesstimate what would you have expected for a tek2.5 TDO4?

Standard P1 is 13.49 according to Subaru, so you are in that ballpark which is nice considering the P1's bigger turbo and fruitier cams, which balances against no cats and more midrange boost on your car. Any slight torque advantage you have is probably made up for by the P1's gearing - you both have 3 changes but the P1 can rev 1000 RPM higher in each gear.

My original target for my car was for it to out-accelerate a P1 as you know

fruiter cams - LOL.

John, you can stop now btw

Also, I was hearing a story of you transforming into a giddy teenager with a big as you watched your scooby thrash a 450bhp Evo

hypoluxa it was an untimed airfield, but we had T-uk and myself driving my car and the owner of the Evo then AndyF driving the Evo.

There was about 4 car lengths to the Scooby's advantage on both occasions, launch was similar.

It was an RC Developments 440 spec Evo I think which has just done 420ish on the same rollers, but I'd only got 358 (car was heatsoaked and had a very long run time, from other data I estimate it was 380 BHP on the day - TD05 FE at 1.7 dropping to 1.5 bar at peak power with full bottle of NF and mapped right to the edge with 5 degrees more timing than I could run on plain Optimax). However, I had a shedload of torque and very little lag. Since then it is now showing +35 WHP on accelerometer type things with the same fuel and boost with 1.6 bar at the top with the 20G (plus a 3" exhaust which made no difference over 2.5" !!) and torque is the same but a few hundred RPM later, obviously it hangs on longer.

My aim is 450/400 on Optimax with no additives for the new engine.

Well done John

How did you so convincingly beat the Evo if you have similar power and weight to him? What advantage did the scooby have to pull 4 car length? Is it the case that the 400-odd bhp of the Evo is pub talk and that its really <400?

No, I had less weight and more torque for vast areas of the RPM range, plus subjectively about half as much lag when stamping on the gas.

If the EVO was 420 (why is it called 440?) then 380hp seems as if its in the right ball park. Why was the EVO so laggy though?

We got an extra 7 degrees when using a bottle of NF with a bottle of Millers Did you map on the rollers?

BTW that is exactly what I'm aiming for with my engine

The Evo had a huge GReddy turbo on it (too big?) but it was running 1.8 bar.

No just mapped it on the road I probably had a degree or two in hand, but the Star rollers would have made it det had I used them. Interesting about NF AND MILLERS - Mycroft would have a field day Let him
