What an absolutely awesome match! Stephen Fleming just played on eof the best innings I have ever seen. Brilliant. We are now in the Super Six if we can beat the mighty canada and Bangla-5/4-desh. The Black Caps showed some real guts to win that game, very much worth the torure of waking up after 1 and a half hours sleep. Fleming just controlled the whole game from the moment he came out to bat. I am VERy happy, now let's see if England can follow suit.

Had a quick look at the tables and theres is a possibility 3 of the teams could end on 16 points each with SL topping the table with 20,so if run rate comes down to it NZ will have beat the their last 2 teams well or it could end in tears

I know this probably wont happen but as England learnt in the last WC run rate is VERY important.

Cool

I just found the time to have a geezer at the table. Here are my results, try to stay with me
New Zealand are in(Unless the bloody rain comes), because:
NZ will win their next two games, and come out with 16 points.
IF West Indies win all their reamining games, they will be on 18.
IF South Africa win all their remaining games, they will be on 16, but NZ go through because NZ beat South Africa. BUT because SL lost two games and won two games they will also be on 16 and beacuse SA beat SL then SA, WI and NZ will go through. Comprendé. There are other scenarios, but at the end of the day, NZ will go through unless the ******* rain comes along and stuffs up one of our games. BUT, it is still looking good

Yeah but i thought it was ONLY run rate that mattered not who beat each other.

Anyway with the windies dropping 2 points yesterday it looks much better for NZ.

btw do you know its the rainy season in SA/Zimbabwe

No, it is who beat who THEN it goes on to run rate if there are more than three teams in a tie.

In my above statement I said that SA, SL and NZ could all be on 16, so indeed you were correct in saying it could come down to a 3 way tie and then go down to run rates. The above Scenario is the only way (apart form rain) that New Zealand could not go through based on poorer run rate than SA and SL. If it rains, i will be very very annoyed, not only at mother fukcing nature, but also at the lack of reserve days. My fingers are well and truely crossed.

Thats seems stupid, why not ONLY go for run rate, they cant think its possible having the run rate tied at the end

Question

I think it is so that you get rewarded for actually beating the team that you are tied with. It would be much fairer if you would go through instead of the other team, because if you beat them, surely you should be the better team?? Seems pretty logical to me, run rate isn't everything after all

It's going to take a bit more than a good run rate for the Poms to get in the Super Six. Some good hard slog is needed. Australia 3 in a row now. Hopefully the rain at the aussie game is all that comes in the next few weeks..... Pakistan for England tomorrow I do believe.....

LOL!!! You talk a lot of rubbish planky Cairns got hit over the head by a disgruntled SA supporter because we beat their cricket team. If you start a fight, you don't get hit in the back of the head Stop listening to those tabloids

BTW - I genuinely want England to get through to the Super 6, I would dearly love for the Black Caps to slaughter them once again

LMAO - How convenient

As for the Mr Cairns situation. Now, apparently, he also may have thrown some punches Nobody will ever know the real happenings, so i'm just going to let this one slide peacefully under the rug

England beat Pakistan!! Sounded like a very good bowling perofrmance on a very bowlers assisted wicket, and a life saving batting display from Collingworth. Well done ENgland I guess you could say

I am really pissed off now about this Carins situation after reading this article.http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,2283300a10,00.html

Cairns and some of the players were out celebrating the news that him and his partner were having their second child. Cairns and i think it was McCullum, took their shirts off to do the Haka, and they were kicked out because apparently you arent allowed to take your shirt off in that particular bar. Then some pissed off patrons, started a brawl outside which ended up in Cairns being hit over the back of the head and losing consiousness for 2 minutes. So now Cairns probably won't play the next few games, all because of some stupid SA fan. Are they all like this???

Unhappy

Doesn't it just annoy you when you work out all the possibilities that could happen and then pain the *** kenya come along and mess it all up They are more trouble than they are worth. I just have to keep telling myself "as long as we beat Bangladesh and Canada". Not too good for the old heart

Question

Yeah pretty much. The tight rope will become unpassable if rain comes too. Sorry, i'm feeling metaphoric today. NZ v Bangladesh tonight, i'm still considering wether to do an all nighter. When is England v Aussi?

It gets better for NZ, but sooooo much worse for England Is it just me or is England dead and buried now? I haven't checked the tables yet.

As for NZ, we finally have a positive run rate A solid win over Bangladesh, means we only need to survive the rain against Canada, and we are PRETTY much in. Finger crossed
