John, thanks for answering those questions for me

By way of comment, my car is staying how it is for now - fast and safe. As and when I can afford it, I'll be going for the Full Monty with Mark (Lateral Performance) with uprated internals, FMIC, gearbox and diffs if necessary.

I'll be looking for 400bhp-plus which I think is reasonable and, I hope, driveable as an everyday motor. Unless you're a track day or drag queen, 400 is all you can really use on the road, and only then in short bursts of no more than a few seconds.

There will be no standard cars that can keep up with that, of any make. Not many bikes either, when it comes to real roads. And I love the way turbo cars go - like 2-stroke bikes. It's the rate of increased accelleration that does it when the turbo kicks in (like when the 2-strokes get 'on the pipe') and they feel faster than they actually are.

Suits me

Richard.

I'm about to fit a f/e TD05, ported headers and uppipe aswell as a Walbro pump, I have also considered the parallel fuel rail mod, is it worth it?

Pity we don't have a projects/modifications forum 'cos this would make an excellent subject!

Andrew...

PS. I have a MY98 wagon.

Kenny it looks identical, but please don't try the insurance trick of not declaring a hybrid - it has caught some out.
As if that thought ever crossed my mind
