My bollox you have, thats why I still have the same thing wrong with mine since April last ******* year!
I think some people are just born into this world to annoy and upset as much as possible, and I hate the way IM talk down to you.

More updates
I can honestly say that my knocking noise is getting much worse again, and when I say again, it never actually completly disappeared.
Also I have a new noise from the rear now, when the car's cold and you turn either left or right, there is a knock/bang from the opposite side as to which you're turning, it doesn't do this for long, but I could guarantee that every night I leave work it happens, every morning I leave home it happens!
Driving me mad.

My STi7 has loud banging, cluncking noise from NSR. Getting worse by the day. It seemed to start after I had the PPP fitted. Is the extra power loading up the suspension too much?
Phoned my dealer yesterday who says he has the mount but after 4 weeks still doesn't have a strut.
The worst manifestation of this is when going round a left hand bumpy corner at approx 50mph.
Phil, I know we use the same dealer. How long did it take him to get the parts for you?

Hi Steve,
Not sure you're right there...... I live in Maidstone, and was very underwhelmed on my one and only visit to your (I think) Dealer up the A21
Parts (and I've had 4 sets ) typically take about a fortnight to come through.
Not sure from your description, that your rattle is the same as the rest of us. While typically (indeed, invariably) NSR the key feature is that it is at low speed - under 30 mph. Which is NOT to say that it never ever happens at higher speed, but that is rare. Fitting PPP made absolutely no difference to mine either way, so unless you've got a loose exhaust or exhaust component, it shouldn't be that. Actually, I did think you'd replied to one of the previous threads saying you had the low-speed rattle as described.
Take it you like your PPP as much as I like mine

My NSR strut noise has dissapeared, it all happened around the time I took the bung out of the Blitz.
[Just thought I'd add some light humour as a BTTT!]

Difficult territory GLIM! Though I'm concerned about the long-term wear of the struts if there's banging going on inside, and though it irritates me beyond belief, it hardly makes the vehicle undrivable. Added to which, it's now a year-long saga, which makes the prospect of unmerchantability pretty thin!! That's why I have pursued the policy of insisting on the car being repaired (now) by S-UK if necessary, having raised the matter with the MD (with my Dealer's full knowledge - see your own thread, my latest). With the MY '00 I had a clutch which would both spontaneously engage when depressed, and disengage when engaged, we had a safety-related issue. That had warranty work up and down the drivetrain 13 times in 12 months before I pitched it in: S-UK gave me the difference between the trade-in price and the cost of an identical age/mileage replacement at forecourt sticker price, and I traded up (prematurely, thus ruining my replacement/financial strategy) to STi7 while I was about it.
STi due back in the next couple of hours......

The STi7(UK) was returned Ex-West Bromwich today, and I've driven it for 25 miles. The low speed rattle NSR is still present: it occurs under the same circumstances with which we're all familiar; and just as often as before. The first instance was within 250 yards of leaving my house It is, however, slightly quieter than before. S-UK have been informed of my immediate response, and I'm going to take time out to drive it a bit more, and consider my response. I'll probably consult for ideas through a new and different SN Thread

My sti 8 has done the nsr knocking from new (3 weeks old). The dealers (ha) are meant to phone me when they get a replacement top mount in 4 me. Sounds like i'll get them to swap the strut as well.
To$$ers, trying to fob me off.

when you travel slowly (say up to 25mph) you often get a clunking sound from the nsr topmount area of the suspension.
It sounds as though when the suspension drops into a sudden hole - rather than the wheel being allowed to roll into an undulation- the sudden downward movement of the wheel highlights some play in the suspension. As the slack is taken up, a clunk or bang is heard.
I'm not happy. I took it into the dealers 2 weeks ago for its 1000 'service'. they told me they would order atopmount and let me know when it is in. I'm still waiting for them to call me........
I will ring them today, in the light of this 5 page thread and tewll them to get a new strut whilst they are at it - I'm not travelling 50 miles to the dealer for a no fix situation.

Andy..... If you're me you are in a 1-year old "no fix" situation
Your symptoms are exactly identical to those reported by so many of us. The good news is:'Some have been cured by new struts'..... The bad news is: 'but some have not!!!'
Just to encourage you..... this is actually the THIRD thread anounting to 5 pages or more on this subject..... one on "General" and two on "Suspension" (not all started by me) so if you've time on your hands and the search engine's working.......
Regards
Phil

Hi Andy
In under two weeks time i'll be in the year old rattle gang aswell, with almost as many strut changes as Phil, but not quite.
Maybe Subaru will change that and give me another replacement, maybe they will phone us all up today and tell us about the amazing developments that have taken place recently on studying Customer cars with the fault with the new that its going to be fixed once and for all in the very near future.

Phil,
According the the Head Tech, it was fitted with "A new variant, as all the previous attempts have not worked."
So my car was another test case for Subaru
Apparently, a bushing was absolutely knackered on the original set up, completely worn out?
