Andy - join the club - just survived the latest cuts yesterday.
Oh yeah, sorry I'm in IT - Pre Sales consultant, specialising in IT security

Tradesman. One of a dying breed.
Waiting for the day when it all goes full circle, and the millions of IT bods can't get work, and the very few builders/sparks/plumbers/joiners left can charge what they want because no-one is around to do the job.

Chris D,
Is that how much soldiers are on these days?
I install standy diesel generators for 29, I wouldn't risk being shot for another 4K, remember, death can be fatal.
I hated computers at school, I wish I'd got into them earlier, for the IT men reading this ( and there seems to be a few, considering this thread was directed at NON IT personell), what does your average boffin earn a year?

MJ ...How long is a piece of string.
Salaries range from £15K up
I work in IT recruitment specialising in the SAP market and I have placed guys into positions that pay £175 per hour.
Work that out and it's a shed load of cash.

MJ
33k has taken me 11 years (pay is job & rank based) and i do next to nothing each day
i was on about 7k when i was 16
its guaranteed to go up every year though, i get a LOT of claims/bonuses/add-pay as well and i only pay £200 a month rent for a detatched 3 bed house with garage
oh....and you probably have the same/more odds being killed in an RTA/run over by a bus etc etc..than i have of getting shot
