I have noticed that performace sheet these are RWD cossie's not 4wd's are they , just incase you think they are 4wd conversions,

Graig H

i don't see the point there's not a scoob in this country that' s as fast as Martin's car or Gareth Llodys Escort cossie's and thats a fact...... your car was quick but i wouldn't put it in the same class as Martin's / Gareth's /Steve Scotts escort cossie's

no offence ment, but i do think that you area bit biast to the scoob, they are a good car out of the box and thats that......some of you lot don't even know what it's like to go over 180+mph , I do and you will never get that out of a scooby engine with standard internals ................not in this country, sorry to say ........blinded with the sh!te

Oi Marco,

You having a bad hair day or summat? Perm dropping out?

I'm not biased towards Scoobs one jot (lol ) - I know Martins (not comparing Gareth Llyods cos it's pure comp spec) is in a different league to mine - hence my reply to SaxoBoy.

But I will stick up for Scoobs when some of the RS meatheads with 330hp think they've got the fastest thing on the planet. Or totally undynoed BS power claims......and those that say Scoobs can't be fast - there weren't THAT many Cossies which would've beaten my Scoob (or AndyFs) easily and you know that

Richard,

What was he saying I got through Craners? Was it more than 70 cos I'm a bit scared through there

A typical cross section of scoob's and coosies at santa pod on Sunday for RWYB.

Average WRX, STi times around 14.5 - 15.5 one modded black car did a 13.1 which is good
Sunny Gtr with 400bhp did a 12.6
Average cossie late 13,s fastest one a rwd saff did a 12.3
Fastest road car of the day was an old vauxhall viva doing an 11.8.
Couldn't believe the MK1 astra doing a 13.1 either excellent motor

That Red MK1 Astra is a serious machine. Its running a Vauxhall Calibra Turbo engine with some nice mods and the best bit ?? -

The car isnt setup fully yet, he had taken it down to get a feel for whats needed. The owner knows what he is doing with these engines, beleive me this is one that all road cars should be wary of when meeting it on the road.....

jonny bag - cosworths handle too , read this thread from the RSOC BBS

http://bbs.rsownersclub.co.uk/showthread.php?s=8e05b44694430af5fedad0c388f16b78& threadid=10329

A 330bhp Escort Cosworth being the 2nd or 3rd fastest road car EVER around the Bedford Autodrome, plus more Cosworths in the top places....

Impressive stuff, don't you agree?

Graig H

Oi Marco,

You having a bad hair day or summat? Perm dropping out?

Lol.. pmsl I had to get it cut..lol. it was raving a bit out of control like my cossie :P

Graig
I know and you know about cossie's(4wd) and scoobs with appox 330 bhp, both cars are good in different ways on a track
The cossie needs work doing to the suspension because they are a bit lardy in standard form,if is 4wd it understeers
The scoob in standard form is a lot better

if you was to put a standard Escort cos on a track with a standard scoob
the scoob would win.

What i can't understand with some of these pr!cks, is you can make a cossie's handle , why do they think you can't ?

If you have a moddified Escort/Sierra Cossie (4wd) you have to do the handling that is the most important thing to do on a Cossie

I Love these threads you know especially when i see this with old tecno doing the damage Good old ****e cossie's

Congratulations to Martin Hadland and Sean Bicknell....
Both of whom at Palmersports Bedford Autodrome on saturday smashed into the howfast.co.uk Top 25!!!!!! In fact there are now 3 Reyland cars in the Top 25 More importantly Martin and Sean broke into the top 10 fastest cars EVER around the track with simply stunning times and we all know how much faster we could have gone..... (Martin actually went another 5secs faster in practice and Sean managed to switch his fuel pumps off on his hot lap!)
Some interesting statistics... Martin was 17 seconds (2min38) a lap quicker than STEF READER (very well known for his driving prowess) in his modded Scooby. Martin is using a boggo engine running greens and 330bhp remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sean was also 3 seconds quicker than Tiff Needell in a 120k Porsche GT2
These Cossies are really crap old dinosaurs aren't they... also proves that you need alot more than big power to go fast.
The site hasn't been updated yet but check out www.howfast.co.uk for details of the event and old times.
It was a Superb day out and Martin and Sean have proven yet again that there is life in our old dogs yet and that Cossies are not just fast in a straight line. Evos, Scoobys, Skylines.... come and have a go if you think your fast enough

Thanks Redkop for the info

Johny Gav

when your reading this, just chile and have a beer think of something to say worth reading ,you will get over it about the OLD dinosaurs cossie's

I was being quite gentle on this post cos I like scoobs, and know quite a few of the people on this board who actually KNOW how to drive.

JohnnyGav,

What an earth are you on about? Have you got selective vision? I just posted about my quarter mile time in reply to another post, and then proceeded to ask Craig about Craner at Donnington race circuit which I drove two weeks ago.

Then Marco posts about the two Reyland cossies smashing times at Bedford, so what was that about no handling?

Do any of you scooby onwers on this post actually ever take your car on track, take it to Santa Pod, or any other event like these?

That's a serious question, and not requiring a smart *** answer like "I don't have to cos I know how quick it is".... so have you? If so, times etc etc please?

If any scooby owners wre at santa pod on sunday they will have to admit that the scoobies were pretty much at the back of the queue the wrx's being beaten by astra gte 2.0 turbo's and even a well tuned 16 valver. What I noticed about scoobies is that they were very fast of the mark but after 100 yards or so they began to loose ground on the other hand the cossies were very slow of the mark but once in there stride very rapid having top speeds at the quarter mile way in excess of the scoobies.
very dissappointed by the evo and skyline both highly modded the skyline matching the quickest cossie, the evo way behind.
