FYI not quite sorted ALL the fine details yet but the pub I'm thinking of is about 1/2 way from the meet point at 11:30-12:00, which would make it 2:30-3pm ish, not sure if they are open/serve food all day but will hopefully check tomorrow?????

Another option is to stop early for lunch (12:40 ish) then a do most of the route after, I have an idea of a place we could do this which would be a better bet for getting 'Lunch'.

Alternatively you can always fill your faces at the Services and just stop somewhere mid route/afternoon for a drink/rest like we did last time?

Let me know what you think?

My clutch is a sad bunny at the moment Probably won't come now just in case. I was gonna borrow the money from the bank but I don't want to risk not being able to get home

Markus how much did the clutch set you back mate as i've just had the most amazing quotes from a Subaru specialist who'll do me cash in hand jobs:

New clutch(inc. fitting) - £250.00
Major 30,000 mile service - £150.00 (probably cheaper as no air filter is neaded)
Cam belt change - £190.00
Thats £590.00 all in
If I get it all done at the same time i'll get more of a discount

Sorry about all the s but i'm still stunned!!!!!

Cool

I will have a few 'options' up my sleeve for Saturday, depending on the weather etc. we go past one or two nice places en-route.
As there is not many of us we could probably just turn up anywhere that is open.

Amanda is coming with me, so I will have to ask her if she is stopping for food... What time are you thinking of eating & am I gonna be waiting around all night staying sober?

Right, table booked for 13 (+/- 1) at 8pm.

Chance to park up after the run, grab a shower if you want one, sink a beer or two and then tuck in

Alright for some!

GOOD NEWS, done the recce tonight in the dark & 'pea soup' FOG, (carefully managing not to kill any sheepies) The 'halfway' pub will be open all day Saturday & serves excellent food till 3pm (we should be there by 1:30 at the latest on tonights timings!

BAD NEWS, You will have to be VERY careful as, with the amount of rain we have had in the last 24 hours, there are huge puddles and some floods en-route (as well of lots of TTL's)

I wont be able to caution everything, as these things change, so you will need to drive safely, not knowing what could be around the next bend!

Final bit of GOOD NEWS, It should be easier to drive in daylight!Tomorrow should be dryer so the water levels will fall, but alas there are showers on Saturday & a chance of Thunder on Sunday

Ok, just want to state, that unlike the camping, I wont have a navigator with me, so I will need to follow someone, hope that's ok.

puddles eh? hmm, maybe I won't bother washing the car tonight then!

See you all tomorrow, this is going to be blinding!

Mine too Markus!

That should help a little Jawa. Those with slicks would be advised to get their pen knife out tonight and make some grooves!

These are not any of your soft southern puddles these are the sort of puddles that float your car or could spin it if you hit them too fast

I had one 'moment' last night where I was sideways & cadence braking like mad to get the car to cut through a flood, not nice!
