I think you're right Henrik, it does look like a TD04 housing to be honest, but I also agree with Lewis that making 288 from a standard TD04 at only 1.0 bar is impossible.
I wonder if it's got a TD05-18G fitted, which will have the same compressor markings.
Can you ask Surrey Rolling road if they saw any more power than 288bhp and if they kept it back to 1.0 bar for any reason?

Yeh i did try to call, I may drop them an email and ask the question, also It kinda drops boost/power after like 5.5k and naturally makes you change gear to stay in boost - is this normal or could it be a boost leak?
Im used to cars that don't really peak until the end of the rev range

Thats normal on smaller turbos like TD04's... they just run out of puff. You can see that in the plot showing boost that you posted. it peaks at just over 1.0 Bar and slowly tails off with higher RPM.
Insurance - thats also pretty standard, insurers like you to have had an impreza for a year before dropping. I was near £800 for my current scoob alone in the first year I bought it a couple of years ago, I hadn't had one for a few years. This year i've insured it and my A4 daily for £530! I am 37 though...

For Subaru insurance the best providers I've found (in the last 12 years) so far are:
Gary Molson (Moley on here) @ Keith Michaels https://www.keithmichaels.co.uk
A-Plan Thatcham branch (only use Thatcham branch as they are performance car specialists, other branches of A-Plan can't get the discounts or policies they can). https://www.aplan.co.uk/thatcham
Sky Insurance https://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/car-insurance.html
Adrian Flux https://www.adrianflux.co.uk
All of these companies continue to give great quotes and prices. I've been with Gary @ Keith Michaels for a few years now and he's brilliant.

Charlie knows his way around a subaru on a dyno so I'm confident it's not over reading but as everyone else is saying, 290 on a standard TD04 at 1bar with the downpipe cat in place shouldn't be possible.
Another shout out for Gary at Keith Michaels, not always the easiest guy to get hold of but worth persevering.

I'll buck the trend on Keith Michaels. I found them a nightmare to get a hold of. Then promised call backs were not made. If thats what they're like taking you're money I dont want to know what they're like at handing it out if the worst should happen. Yes, they may/do offer good cover but for me, I prefer better service upfront. I know lots use them, especially via Moley but not for me thanks.

I'm paying £549 at 27yo, first time subaru ownership, using the car as a daily driver, all mods that don't increase power don't change the premium when you declare them at any point through the policy, and after 6months power can be upped to 300bhp with no increase in premium.
That's through Greenlight. I do insure another car through them as well which gets me a reduction in price.

Just pieced it together from what I could make out on the different photos.

£6000 is crazy. I use Sainsbury's car insurance, it's about £350 for me but I'm an old git at 43.
My son is with Bank of Scotland. It's a part of Lloyds bank, but Lloyds wouldn't insure him, bank of Scotland would for some reason.
He was named driver on my policy with Bank of Scotland for the first year, but after a year no claims, it was actually cheaper for him to insure it in his name on a new policy with no no claims bonus than the renewal was for me! He's only got a mini one 7 though.
