Their header tanks seem a lot worse than their rads to be fair.

Spec looks good mate, similar to mine.

I wonder what peak boost level Duncan took your car too on the dyno before he completed the map. What it is finally mapped to (hopefully less than 1.35bar peak on un-forged std 2.5 engine) may still be less than it saw during setup on the dyno. It may well of had a run at higher boost before he trimmed things back which could well have promoted early head gasket failure. You never know.

Ah yes, my mistake. Oops. I'd trust Mark more than Dunc to be honest. I suspect it already had an issue developing then before mapping. Very unfortunate.

again i see no reason why you need to upgrade your rad at that power level/use of car, surely the money would be better invested in something else. my hawk @78k is running 352bhp on the original rad and its fine,i did look at upgrading it but after talking to a few tuners they said unless im taking the car on track or running massive power the std subaru rad as long as its in good condition will be fine,if i diod decide to upgrade i would certainly put my money in a companies product that has lots of good reviews against a product that has poor reviews.

glad that dt have looked after you mate, warranties are usually not worth more than the paper they are printed on.
I think your right my forester is running 496 hp with the standard rad .

Spent 20k on it and needs an engine rebuild after mere (not read the whole thread) weeks is it? Would that be right?

Seller would be getting a visit.

This thread escalated quickly

Is the new crank nitride coated or was it a like for like replacement?

No mention of a different turbo or front mount intercooler

Keep the pics coming

Now here we are on Thursday & at 18:41 have been informed the closed deck blocks are done, forged rebuild has been completed & the engine will be back in the car tomorrow

Quickly. Thread. Escalated... BOOM!!!!!

haha. Yep, I need to get my **** in gear and update my thread. I've just spent too much time away for work this year and my plans of getting all the bits fitted and mapped just didn't happen as planned. I'll get it done.

Oh by the way, have you seen there is a forged 2014 MY15 on ebay at the moment with a spec not as good as ours up for £30k.

I would be concerned, with the work done and possible changes to the compression ratio the generic Subaru map is useless imo.

This is the most unique STI in the UK. When the bottom end has gone it’s gone.

Black box .... wasn’t that a band from the 80’s

Siv

Don't mess with the black box!

I've had my mishimoto radiator fitted for over a year now and not had any issues.
Lovely car by the way!

Looks good. That's where I am planning on mounting my Toucan display.

You need a better stereo in that car! Blimey!
