Does anyone have a SC42 dyno graph?

thats a sc46 which i know had its own problems before, they dont have a dual bearing either, and as already said was due to high egt.
again I havnt seen a ‘sc42’ have the issue.
and if garret still use the plastic caged bearings then im sure there is no problem with them, but either high temps, stuff getting in, incorrect cooling for turbo, lack of oil circulation etc etc, it cant be a high percentage of issues or garret would of addressed it as garret are not a small brand with low sales figures.
and I believe its a nylon not plastic, dont under estimate the strength of nylon, infact a lot of turbos have a nylon carrier including the precision I believe.
dont get sucked in by 1 mans problems. When it becomes common then i can relate and agree and infact help you slate them lol.

Usual from me going wayy off topic but do the 42 & 46 not share the same cores (GT30) just the impellers change size ?

That's a sore topic actually. Been quiet on this for a few days whilst I thought I was working out a deal for a good second hand SC42 billet turbo with one of the well known breakers. However it looks like it wasn't meant to be and it's not up for sale after all (yet) and is still first come first served on the turbo no matter how much I want it. In fact without saying too much, through no fault of my own, I've effectively been told off by the breaker for bothering him whilst he's busy. Tried to call him yesterday to order the turbo, silicone inlet pipe, stainless headers, harvey up-pipe & uprated injectors and been turned away. Has all left a very stale & bitter taste in my mouth to be honest. Was all discussed in good faith and feeling very annoyed with his rude responses and messages to me. I've shown a mate the messages and he can't believe it either. I'm not going to say any more on this subject, name names or take PM's on this. Crazy.
So I have been back to square one. I was told by someone that the clinic are waiting for more stock to come in of the SC turbos, but in all honesty I haven't had a chance to call them to check. I have been in contact with Mark at Lateral and been discussing their MD321T turbo which will achieve the same, is still billet, but has bronze bearing carriers and ceramic exhaust housings. They are all in nearly identical price wise to the SC42, so is certainly an option.

i assume the original plastic cage was an issue otherwise garret wouldnt have went to the bother of upgrading it twice? metal cage, then ceramic bearings iirc
i asked Chevron about a core rebuild a few years back and they said "That part number you have given me is for a plastic cage ball bearing set up witch we will not use sorry! I would up graded it to the steel cage ball bearing set up with a heat shield "
in the end i purchased a brand new rev3, GT3071r CHRA for about £700 delivered and put it into the housings i already had - which where perfect & the original SC old TD ones...see pic for very old stylee!! https://i.imgur.com/gnl1Zea.png
CHRA part number i got was 700177-5023S the original plastic cage one was 836000-5002S

I just spoke to Dan and yeah they are waiting for a delivery soon coming with some twinscroll SC42.
I think maybe Dan thought I was you, BPR but it seems you're not the only one thats been talking to Lateral about the MDX321T.
Regardless of the above i'll PM you with my spec Dan.

Yep, agreed mate. You live and learn. Can take a while for someone to show their true colours, but they all come out in the end. I'd never even consider talking to customers the way he has talked to me. It's really annoyed me. Anyway, onwards and upwards.

Our current order is held up by a twin scroll 42 being made, but were hoping to see them back end of next week all being well before Blouch have their xmas shut down.
Il have a look at the PM Lewis and drop you some graphs over on a UK STi 8 set up as close to your spec as possible.

the plus version has a wheel from the 46 fitted to get more top end so they have made a middle ground, but not sure if that will take away the 46's sales lol.

LINK PLEASE.
Can't see it listed anywhere. I found one for £700 but the advert was very old and the SC42 was the older silver housing type, plus it sold. There have been one or two come up but all sold. Same for MD321T
