Sure, you are close by in Israel. More updates soon. Will be off to see RCM next Thursday as engine build will be in final stages and will also look at getting some custom Cobra seats made.

I will post this in for sale items as well. CDF clear timing belt covers. It would be rude not to use the new RCM ones since they are building my engine. New not used £180. Plus postage.

650cc injectors. Good for 480bhp or thereabouts. Taken off the car due to this build. £100.

Excuse my ignorance but Bob Rawle really is the man huh?

Must be something in it if you fly him to Cyprus to map your car (on multiple occasions).

Yes indeed. He is definitely the man. Although I am sure there are others of his calibre in the UK, there is definitely no one in Cyprus with his experience.

I like his no bull**** approach and man of few words. I asked once for some pops and bangs, he just looked at me and I knew that there were none for me.

Special mention to Paul Blamire as well who I used when he ran Zen Performance.

Some shots of the build. Unfortunately job loss a few months back meant everything went on hold for a few months. Engine though is ready and waiting for me to collect.

Getting a few things done. New alternator as current one died, Spec C manifold cleaned and painted and exhaust manifold sent off for a clean.

A few things to do

Larger throttle body, probably from Boomba Racing. Jury is still out on this and may leave until i decide to go larger turbo as well.
Lightweight pulleys from RCM, as the current unknown brand ones have some previous installation damage. They are redesigning and have no old stock left, so have to wait.
Chevron Motorsport engine bay anti surge fuel tank. I am not convinced the Spec C in tank one will hold enough supply for big pump and 1300cc injectors. I also don't like boot mounted versions with external pumps as they smell and are noisy. Although the engine bay location will also be noisy it is just another noise from the engine bay rather than a separate noise from the boot. Rather go overboard and be safe when it comes to fuel.
Exhaust manifold to be re-coated with black ceramic heat coating as the white coating gets dirty easily.
Looking at some titanium nuts and bolts as well to make the engine bay look just right. But may not do so as expensive and need to start on track car rather than spend on nice to have items.
Murray clamps for new intercooler pipes. As I will go rotated inlet manifold and I have also clocked the turbo compressor to get rid of the bend straight after the turbo I will need all new intercooler pipes. May as well clamp them properly.
Lightweight battery

Yes it did. Beats socks, wine, underwear , new guitar etc. It should have been here for Christmas but there was a delay with the courier who wanted the flight case to be on a pallet. So although they collected it fine, there was a message that delivery was on hold. Olly Clark had to dash to East Midlands airport late evening and strap it to a pallet. Unfortunately it missed the flight and got caught up in the Christmas holidays. To get to Cyprus, goes Germany, Athens and then Cyprus. Sent me the dry sump the other day and picked up at 1600 and was here the next day by lunchtime. So usually very good.

Decided on black to match some of the other parts going black.

Finally we have found some time to get the work done. Unfortunately as the work on the car is being done by one of the owners of the workshop (actually a good thing) he cannot do it during normal working hours as is constantly pulled away by customers coming in or calling. Also when they see the engine and the car there is a discussion as to how their friend, 5th cousin, brother, grandmother (insert any relation) has had built by XX workshop a 1000hp engine for an Evo or Subaru and why theirs was better and what we have done wrong....

So keeps it covered and only will work after hours or Saturday afternoons. Started fitting ancillaries and inlet manifold and seeing what inlet pipe to use for turbo.

Oil tank has arrived as well. Will have to be creative as to where it will fit. Oil changes will be expensive. 8 litres of oil.

Looking good,

8L oil changes may be expensive but the solution to pollution is dilution.

Liking the clear cam belt cover

Some more work. More of a mock up at this stage to make wiring neater and reach the rotated throttle body.

So a fair bit of progress. Engine is in and most of the oil and fuel lines fabricated. Not much room as the dry sump tank is a bit large and also have the under bonnet fuel surge tank and pump. Trying to make it neat is difficult.. A little hiccup with not realizing that my oil cooler was -10 fitting and dry sump was -12. As it is a combined radiator/oil cooler had to be taken out and sent off for new fitting to be made.

A fair bit of bracket fabrication to mount items needed. The plan is to try for a start on Sunday. Firstly make sure it starts before we make any further modifications to electrics and reinstall alarm/immobilizer. If all runs fine it will go for intercooler pipes to be fabricated and powder coated. Then most likely the final electrics with the under bonnet fuel pump and relay to be installed. Then a proper start up and bring up to temp. If all good and no leaks we will swap the injectors from the 850s to 1300 and book Bob Rawle.

If that is all good its off to bodyshop. Undecided whether bolt on arches or WRC type arches. I like both.

I also spent a few hours doing a ceramic coat of the underside. 😬 People coming into the workshop would whisper to the workshop owner, why is he polishing the underside????
