Ever heard of the term 'correlation does not equal causation'? Because that seems to be the route you are travelling and seems to be behind your general way of thinking.
Just come out and say it. What do you think the issue or hidden motive or connection is here, then?

The motives behind them both are still unknown, whilst in other mass killings the motives are known quite quickly.
Mental health could be applied to just about every murder that ever took place. All would take a ‘mental’ episode in some form or another to have one person in such a state as to kill another.
The ability in the US to solve problems with a weapon that’s so readily available is the problem. Trump, like every other president before him is wrong not to blame gun culture as it’s clearly the reason behind many mass shootings every year.

Both were premeditated. Both had clear cut victims, their locations, the times, the amount of people in one place at one time.

You didn't realy read anything in my other post saying that mental health is pretty much the same here as other places in the world, so is not as much of a factor as previously thought, did you

I do wish you'd just spell it out

that's irrelevant, if calls are being made to ban guns because of deaths and road deaths are significantly more then there should be significantly more calls to ban cars than guns.
funny how people dont want to give up their nice and comfortable cars eh

what are the primary function and intended use of cars?
what are the primary function and intended use of guns?
How many people own/use cars, compared to owners/users of guns?
is the management of, control of, access to, regulation of and maintenance of guns as highly administered for guns as it is for cars/trucks?
It's flawed to equate guns to cars purely on the basis that they can both cause death.

An argument often made by the hard of thinking I'm afraid.

Billions and billions are spent year in year out to enhance road safety, crash protection, pedestrian crossings etc to prevent death as much as possible.
What measures are put in place to prevent gun deaths? Surely one measure would be to control more vigorously the sale of assault rifles?.

I don't know - Obama at least tried - he genuinely shed a tear over some of the mass shootings that happened on his watch, but he got drummed down by the Legislature and NRA

So, come on, out with it. You seem to be avoiding stating what you mean by this. What are you trying to say with these statements?

Putting measures in place isn’t just about banning something outright.

But it needs more than just looking at assault rifles. Suicides and accidental deaths through handguns is a massive killer in the US. The whole thing needs looking at but I don't think people should all have their guns taken away.

Kwik, not got anything to say? What do you think it means that some motives are known and published and others are not?
