It doesn't seem the friendliest site, perhaps I should have stuck with Facebook.

TBH Reinhold, a couple of thread split opinion eg the Brexit threat and then this is pretty much like talking to a group of people down the pub who are split i.e. some raised voices, some insults but nothing too bad.

Overall the treatment of people is fine here, it is just the lack of new threads and interesting threads that is the real issue for me.

Ding, the small lettering makes me think of those people who have the small fish on the back of their car.....if you are gonna make a statement then do it properly and go with the larger print.

subtle graphics for me. as you have discovered there are plenty of low lifes and scumbags around. wouldnt surprise me if some ****** thought you were showing off and "advertising" the fact you have a porsche and run a key down the side. sad but true.

Welcome to the site. In general, it's a lovely place with some seasoned members that are able to give a great deal of advice and experience on all matters. It is in most part a lovely place and great fun. Don't let the odd weirdo spoil things.

This.

As any potential perps could possibly bounce the car out of its space (after disarming any alarms, first).

When I was a lad, me and my mates did that to a car in a carpark, on our way to a nightclub. So that it was turned 180-deg within the parking space. As you do.

The owner would have got confused, upon return. Probably.

I see what you mean but you can't see the front of the car, it's wedged up against the house at the front and to one side with very little space for manoeuvre.

I'll post another picture tomorrow and then please let me know what you think.

Cheers

Unlikely, there’s a world of difference between the usual key copying, fishing and other discreet MOs and sending in a great big truck to rip out a post. The discretion side is well and truly lost.

I get your point but I can't secure things to that kind of level, I'm just trying to make it unlikely that the car is stolen, I can't make it impossible.

Tbh, they could probably pick the lock on the bollard in about 15-20 minutes but the point is it would make noise and increase the risk of them being caught.

Last time I made it too easy, they walked onto my drive like they owned the place and were away in my car less than 5 minutes later.

Now with the bollard, a device I have fitted to the car and the key in a Faraday pouch it would take them a lot longer and create noise.

And a merry christmas to you and yours

Cheers

If they’re the sort to not be discreet, use trucks etc. Then you’re better off letting them have it.

90's Escort, IIRC. So admittedly, only around the tonne mark.

Once you get the bouncing started, it kind of builds and builds. Then it's 'really easy' to manoeuvre around.

It's quite fun TBH lol

I don't think I would add the graphics if I was in your position Ding, I quite like the clean look! I sort of know what you mean when you say it's too much white but I would be concerned that the graphics would make me look like I was trying too hard to tell people who didn't know what the car was.

I think it looks the absolute bollicks as it is!

LOL...

My neighbour has a Boxter with 993 klober on it, his is black, had the same problem but obviously of too much black, he went with the full Porsche graphics but in white along the sides and I think it looks great... I don't think it looks chav as it's the classic Porsche look.

I'd go for it if I were you, besides you can always take them off if you decide you don't like it.

P.S, One bollard is better than nothing... serves the purpose of an added deterrent.

Very very nice. I have an incredible soft spot for the 911, currently have a very early production 944 which I am very happy with.

The bollard looks presentable and effective. My neighbour has a very similar one if not the same one and his new, very obvious Orange Hurricane is still sat in the driveway so that’s always a good sign.

Simply Porsche is the first Sunday of June at Beaulieu and always seems to get an incredible turn out if that’s your kind of thing.
