Default Alcatek and Simtek

Hi Ian,

From what I understand Alcatek and Simtek are still two different products, as we are currently having our original Simtek ECU upgraded/flashed to the latest firmware/software.

Simtek is a "brand" and the a name Steve S used to badge the ecu he sells as that. Up to early 2012 he bought AlcaTek ecus and badged them Simtek for resale, then he and AlcaTek had a parting of the ways and he involved GEMS to develop and produce an ecu which he then again badged as Simtek .. so the "new" Simtek is actually five years old

Andy is on holiday with his family this week and so he won't be contactable however that said I had five ecu's turn up from them this morning which are for my next weeks mapping trip to Portugal and using his phone as a modem due to no internet sat in his holiday accommodation he remotely created and sent me three access patch files to support this weeks work program. He can be frustratingly difficult to get hold of sometimes though tis true and he does acknowledge that, but then so can I be ... lol

Hi Bob, so is the alcatek a better ecu than the "new" simtek? I was kind of under the impression Steve wrote the coding for the new simtek.
Cheers.
