Problem with any physical deterrent is that you run the risk of them attempting to get into the house for the keys etc... then you really need a big dog to deter them from doing that... which is a bit of a stretch just to protect a car.

I used to be of the opinion that no one is taking anything from me... these days I'd just give it them if it means that much to them that they're willing to cause me or mine harm to get it.

I'd still have another one though if I were you... if it gets nicked.. so be it... that's what insurance is for, life's too short to let scumbags stop you from having the things you like.

Joz, thanks.

Ditchy, I've been over this in my mind for months now. In the end I've decided I'm not going to let scumbags dictate my life. Otherwise I might as well give up working if I can't actually buy anything I want.

Alan, how much did it cost? Thanks

You really shouldn't have to be worrying about your car like this

There really must be a solution

How about locking it to the drive with a big heavy duty chain and a wall/floor anchor? Only problem is they may just get in and drive off anyway causing more damage to the car and/or drive. But it may give you an extra few seconds and may deter someone trying to move it onto a tow truck.

With the exception of physical deterrents (ie steering locks) are there any other products out there that are also worth looking at?

Thanks

Isnt there certain fuses you can remove that will disable the car. Or lift the carpet a d put the ECU in the house

Good on ya mate, my thoughts exactly... although I've gone in the totally opposite direction... if I were a younger man with the disposable income I'd be doing something similar in the Porsche department...all be it a significantly older model... but that's just down to personal preference.
