I was assuming , that woudlnt make huge difference heating the water if you were heating the house ( central heating) , which you generally would be this time of year !

Still not 100% with you!

If I'm not there, HW & Heating can be off, then when I'm going down, I can turn both of them on so nice & cosy when I get there & I can have a hot shower. There might be an argument for not having HW on but keeping the place to a reasonable temperature to ward off damp etc.

You lost me too. Wood burner has been running most evenings, the heating is off once that's on but if it gets much colder that will change. Same as my old set up the thermostat gets moved to another part of the house and the living room rads are turned down/off.

It's getting good at turning itself back on before I get home.

One thing I'd like is finer control of the water heating, it has a minimum on time of 30 minutes.

Nothing. But if my mate wasn't a wood chopper not much, even on the coldest night this week I only burnt 8 or so small logs and two nights I didn't bother. But you're absolutely right to question the data.

Gets even more fun when you expand them. I was home all day most days, fire was lit at 6:30'ish which is when the water comes on.

I spent a lot of time last year tweaking and perfecting my heating set up, to the point where it became an obsession, but saved me a few quid in the process. BTW if your haven't had your radiators balanced it is worth the effort or cost of getting this done.

Where do you place your temperature sensor overnight? If I am interpreting your data correctly, your ambient temperature is dropping to 15C overnight which you are then having to lift to 18 or 19 degrees first thing in the morning which seems to happen very quickly? The drop back on Monday from 20C in the late evening to 15C at midnight also seems quite rapid, given the outdoor temperatures at the moment are quite moderate - hence my question about sensor placement.

Those are the Temps the Thermostat is set to, not ambient. It's set at 15 so it's very unlikely to come on.

I'll have a look at balancing, my system is a mix of old, very old and silly ideas.
