I've seen posts on the net stating only 200 ever made, then 300 etc etc...

The earliest plaque I've seen is a March build, so 100 for March, 100 April and a 100 for May. Then that was upped to 200 from June until August I believe. So that's 900 plus the 100 with the acropolis rally plaque too...

There's a thread on here somewhere with owners of them posting their pics and build numbers. You should find it and post yours

Do you mean the clear, lower indicator lens of the cluster?

If so, no. It was the JDM semi-facelift MY97 "phase 1.5" cars onwards which got those.

People mistakenly refer to them as "STi lights". But they weren't 'model'-specific, merely MY-specific (for JDM cars).

Fountain of knowledge, I did not know that I thought they were " sti lights " I will correct people when they say sti lights now

This car would look great with those...

If you look in book The Impreza Story (by Brian Long), under the '1997 Model Year' chapter, there's an official Subaru brochure photo of a non-STi WRX clearly sporting the clear lenses.

Wow that's immaculate!! Great buy there, so clean underneath. As it happens I have a version 1 sti. From the batch of 200. Mine is number 3 but it's also a wagon which makes it more unusual. Do you have a link of where I can find more info on the v1 stis?

Cheers

Dave

I had a look at the link but unfortunately some of the links on the page don't work well didn't for me. Did the v1 then have 'generally' the same spec? Turbo, heads etc.

Was sat in David at API's workshop for years, then clinic bought it.

Yep, nut bolt up, i'll try and get some more pics at some point. Last i heard it's waiting on parts from japan at the min, although they may have arrived by now.

Yeah, its also a strange colour too. The blue you can see is correct for the car (confirmed by subaru), but the brochures say it was only available in silver red and black.
