Yes it is the correct picture of a v3 STI
But when you click on the pic it brings up a TypeRA STI

I will check back in a few years time, you might have things in order and sorted out by then.
Doubt it tho

Is the 1997 STI Type R (and 22B) classed as a Version (I) and the 1998 STI Type R a Version IV?

Does the GB270 really develop 310lbft?

You have it listed as 2006/2007 !

The MY06 and MY07 cars have different model codes by the way, making them two different cars There are two different variants for both years as well

It's been subjected to an afternoon hate campaign along with the 22B!

I`ve lumped Wagons in with saloons but I`ll double check to make sure there were no editions specific to the wagon shape.

edit: Added, there were no 2000 Saloon STi Limiteds.

I think its safe to say that Matt is not the full ticket, I mean, he is now trying to convince Evo owners that the WRX is a better car than the STI...

The funny part was people keeping him engaged in conversation to use up his non paying member monthly post allowance to stop him posting and he didn't even realise.!

Don't usually like the hatch but wow.

TBH I've had my 2003 WRX 8 years now and I've never turned 1 head, when I had my Evo IV, girls used to scream, old men would turn their heads and every 18-30yo would shout "Evo!!!!"

I can get up to 40mpg out of the WRX though, and the light drivetrain means I get more out of any increased bhp than an Evo/STI, so I'll probably never go back :/
That's just comedy gold

I wasn't particularly bothered about staying lol, I just knew some STi fanboy off here would stumble upon the STi slaying talk that I'm no longer allowed to partake in on here and post it on! Come on guys you know the game.

Thread is also on Nasioc and the Toyota Carina Owners forum.

Comedy is always funnier when it's true.

Wait for my post allowance to come back and I'll post the Whiteline pic and see how they take my version of the ARB science...

Anyway getting back on topic, the 22B isn't going to be caught, even with the erratic voting of the TCO forum members.

The race for me is definitely 2nd and 3rd.

The 1997 STi Type R and 2000 STI Type RA are starting to get a foothold.

I think the Hawkeye Spec C and it's variants have gotten under my skin, I really can't say there's a better car, especially for the money.

Matt, your common of garden 300bhp lardy WRX would never slay an STI, it's also never pulled a 2.9second 0-60 or going to run an 11 second quarter, return 40+mpg with or without an uprated rear anti roll bar or open up a can of whoop *** on your mates 400bhp Evo......Just let it go, no one believes a word you say..

It's ok, I use video and picture evidence.

Nobody believed I'd do 12's in a lardy 300lbft WRX with budget tyres, low compression and sticking calipers once upon a time, especially in the cold damp after parking in a muddy field!
Nobody thought I'd crack 32.5 mpg
Nobody thought I'd do a 3.1secs 0-60 until I pulled a quicker 0-60 foot than P1 Hardy's 700+bhp STi and Arf's old 720bhp+ STi with a terrible terminal time.

I'm starting to think Matt may actually be a very clever troll. Note how he interchanges between different 0-60 times so that anyone who skims his post will think he's talking about one thing when in reality he's talking about another.

Been done and dusted before. We compared my 0-60 with times of other cars that were running slower drag race times than mine but were recording far higher terminals. The fact my 0-60 foot time is quicker than 700bhp STis (proof posted many times) is also a big indicator that a 330bhp 1270kg Subaru with long ratios has the perfect power to weight ratio for fast takeoffs. My 300lbft car cant physically run mid 12s with poor terminals without a considerable 0-60mph. For example the 395hp Cosworth STi runs a slower 1/4 mile than mine but has a bigger terminal than mine and that car runs 3.5 secs to 60mph. 3.1 isnt a ludicrous claim, especially when i put all my data into a very technical speed calculator and it came up with the same. 2.9 0-60 is what I feel will be needed for an 11.9 second run. I should have a similar power to weight ratio of the early Nissan GTRs by then but without the traction and gearing problems of a big power STI. MickyWRX ran 12.4 with just 289lbft and a similar terminal to mine, his 0-60 will have also been low 3`s, he too didnt have the torque to cause any wheel/clutch spin on launch or whilst changing and . No extra gear change.

I just hope the 0-60mph timing gear is available this year as I'm dying to silence the cynics!
